Meant to say that I no longer get 10,000 steps but I am okay with that. |
I don’t have 10 min 10x a day. Like now I’m waiting at a dr office I guess I could walk in circles in the waiting room. I do pickleball 2hours 2x a week, yoga 2x a week and golf 1x a week (when it’s nice) … I walk 2-3x a week 5 miles which isn’t 10K steps So I literally never get 10K a day. I don’t track Pb. |
Get up early for a long walk then a shorter post work walk
I find it a struggle every day Keeps my weight down without causing hunger though so I suck it up |
We all make our choices. I’d never pick golf over actual movement. |
Sounds like you have plenty of time. |
In addition to a full-time job, nope. Besides, why would I what’s the point? |
Golf takes talent and it’s social . But yeah, enjoy your hour and a half of walking every day. 😂 |
I wonder why you are posting in a thread about getting 10K steps if you are not interested and supposedly have no time. |
Weird flex on a thread about . . . walking. |
On it all the time--I walk at 1.5-1.8 throughout the day. Never sit (don't have a chair). If I'm in a meeting where it's awkward to be walking, I just stop the treadmill. In some of my meetings, it's fine to walk slowly with the camera on (some of my colleagues have treadmills, too!). In other meetings, where I'm mostly listening, I'll turn off the camera and walk at a higher speed. |
I mean... none of this is actually exercise. Yoga is great stretching, but it (along with gold and pickleball) don't cause people to move their bodies much. |
Right? This sounds like a stay at home mom or wife. |
Speak for yourself. Golf: constantly on your feet, walking, bending, twisting, and swinging your arms. Pickleball: not as intense as tennis but still repetitively swinging arms, bending, moving forward and back, lunging. I'd hardly call either a stationary activity. And even if it isn't cardio, yoga is/can be full body workout and builds muscle and tone, not just stretching. But please enlighten us with your definition of "exercise." |
Walk the kids to school, take the stairs and park further away at work, walk for 10-15min during my lunch break. Add in a trip to the grocery store and that’s getting pretty close to 10k. On days I actually go for a run it gets up to 15. |
Whoever is up there playing golf and taking 5 mile walks and not getting 10k steps has a broken step counter. Walking a round of golf alone should get you close to 10k. And 5 miles is over 10k unless you have an abnormally long stride |
