Applied cryptography issue is mostly that CS majors in the US hardly have math in them. No, discrete is not enough. |
This is very true. You should look at hiring in Canada these days, where there are tons of recent immigrants from India. The moment an Indian is an a position to hire, it's only a matter of time until the entire operation is Indian. I'm surprised there isn't more litigation in both the US and Canada. The discrimination against non-Indians is blatant. |
lol there will be no litigation you elected Musk And yes this is a thing however that is not what will happen Musk wants cheap labor ie slaves . CEOs will all follow him jobs for white men will be minimal and women will not exit No benefits will become a thing they will roll back aca ie for the cult if stupids Obama care as well I love how maga doesn’t know they have used the ACA |

That’s exactly how it works. You hire one and then he will bring another Indian and they will only hire Indians. And this goes for all sectors, not just computer science and IT. So if someone is wondering why there’s a backlash against H 1 B visas (which I believe is 80% Indians) it’s because this unspeakable level of corruption. But if we speak out against this we are “racist”. |
Well, let’s ask ourselves, who is creating this race? And why do our kids need to learn at neck breaking speed? People who built first space rockets didn’t cover pre calculus in high school or were offered college level classes. What’s the rush? Why are we pushing our kids other than this senseless competition? |
Because maybe some kids want to be rocket engineers and are excited for every opportunity to learn something new. |
The Indians are not cheap slave labor. They have SAHM wives, live in upscale houses and drive luxury cars. Are you paying attention to what is going on?? |
You suffer from attention bias. Tons of white people have exactly that. You're noticing the brown ones more because seeing successful brown people is so new and unexpected to you. |
| There are a lot of extremely talented engineers on the H 1 B. The program had been hugely beneficial to American business. But it has also been gamed and abused for years and that needs to be addressed. Unfortunately many of people up in arms over the program are shamefully and blatently racist. And, paradoxically, some of the teams get to the point where a developer won't get hired if they aren't also in the H 1 B program. It is a lose-lose situation. |
|
You see what you did there? If you are against H 1 B program you are racist.
There is no shortage of American talent and CS graduates in this country. We just had thousands laid off last year. We don’t need to bring foreigners to take middle class jobs. Our kids going for CS in college have pretty bad chances of being employed. |
Indians are definitely not hiring black folks either. Or hispanics or east asians. So your little diatribe about brown people is useless. Everyone is accustomed to a diverse work environment. Except in an office with an Indian manager. I don't mean to pick on Indians. But it's a real thing. Extreme tribalism. |
Those might be the ones you are seeing but there are plenty of them at the low end… that’s what you’re not paying attention to. |
| This thread has lost its way. |
That's a next quarter problem. For now, you can import them from abroad. |
There absolutely is a shortage of highly experienced American tech workers willing to be paid $50k-$90k for an "entry level" position that actually expects senior level work. |
