For the record, Trump's margin within the group OP is disparaging shrunk.

The rot was within.

I’m so over the identity politics and calling anyone who doesn’t share your beliefs a racist or ignorant, thank you for answering honestly and respectfully despite the fact that the OP was meant to bait you into a debate destined to end with people denigrating your intelligence.

This is nice. I hope the next 4+ years is better for all us and some of the fear and condescension disappears.

+1 million. I voted for Harris but am so turned off by the vocal left that had it been anyone else but Trump, I would have voted Republican without any hesitation.

Since all kids need emotional support, how do you explain that the current President abandoned his when they needed him the most? It lead to drug addiction, failed marriages, rehab stints etc.

Hi, I am the poster with the dyslexic son. I don’t like Donald Trump at all. But I think his policies are better than the Democrats. I think the Democrats got way to swept up in the far left and pandering to the AOCs, Bernie Sanders, and pro-Palestinian protestors. In the past five years, the woke politics, defund the police, and similar movements have (in my opinion) damaged our country - made our cities less safe and not actually helping minorities be more successful.

On disabilities and special needs, Trump’s son Barron has special needs. Trump said some insensitive things, but I’m focused more on policies than the person.

So you were holding up a billionaire child with special needs who attends expensive private school, who never has to work in his life, education or not, as an example for why it’s ok to gut the department of education and make fun of people with disabilities?

These were the populations that were disproportionally impacted by the schools closing for so long, which the Dept of Ed lobbied for. Also, it is clear from your comments that you have never experienced the inner workings of a public school.

Well, religious education for you. Yay!

Today, I woke up and 4:30 and enjoyed some coffee while I read my favorite news sources. I like to read WSJ, BBC, Jerusalem Post. Next, I responded to some work emails and made a to do list for today. After that I cleaned up the kitchen and went downstairs to work out. Tomorrow, I’ll be volunteering with my kids to build garden beds for a local organization, then taking my in laws to dinner to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. I also intend to do some reading up on possible tutors to help with my son’s dyslexia.

Terrible person, right? Because I disagree with your politics and moral superiority complex? That’s fine, I’ll just be me. I like me just the way I am. You do you.

Have you given a thought today to the people who don’t have your comfortable life and resources?

Absolutely.

Importing millions of desperate workers to keep inflation low is not my idea of helping people with less resources , sort of the OPPOSITE of helping

Public schools are suffocating under the weight of IDEA and special education. They simply haven't the money or manpower to cater to all of the special needs IDEA activists and also educate the rest of the population as well. There needs to be major reform in public education or else public school will simply become a school for special needs kids and poor people who can't afford private school. Maybe that's what the SPED parents want, I'm not sure, but it won't stay like it is.

Didn’t mention that her pension is likely out the window too. No thought about unintended consequences like how the loss of 4400 employees will affect the market X all the other agencies. Not to mention the teachers who will quit because they don’t want to sign loyalty pledges or die in childbirth because Texas doesn’t have enough obgyns.

We can move the Ed people to processing claims at the border. Plenty of space in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

So you like some government? Maybe with this brilliant idea you should be on the transition team.

I don't want to be firing people all over the place. Sucks not having a job.

The military is hiring.

Lower-level jobs while firing officers.

I feel sorry for your son if you are telling him he is disabled because he has dyslexia. Dyslexia is not the same as having a physical disability like being blind or missing limbs. Dyslexia can be overcome with therapy and tutoring and accomodations. There are plenty of successful people that have dyslexia.
. Sigh, you missed the point I was making entirely.
