I used to count my calories religiously at 1200-1300. It began to feel obsessive so now I just aim to eat approximately the same amount of food as I did back then but without all the tracking. It is much saner this way, and I haven’t gained. If I eat out, I eat 1/3-1/2 my plate and — when appropriate— take the remainder home for another day. |
Pp here. Me at to add I just eat regular food, focusing on fiber-heavy vegetarian meals and lots of vegetables and fruits. |
You very much can. Breakfast: coffee with half and half, 200g fat free greek yogurt Lunch: can tuna with 50g fat free greek yogurt, cucumbers Snack: can sardines; tomato, onion, bell pepper salad Dinner: 5 oz chicken breast baked; tomato and cucumber salad Snack: 1 scoop whey protein That’s about 1200 calories, 150g protein. |

Everyone’s food sounds unseasoned. That’s the only alarming thing about all of this Some people also seem alarmingly low in fats. |

I just eat small portions but I'm not always making healthy choices, especially when work is crazy. When I go out I grg veggies and fish. Long day in the office I'm living on power bars and coffee. With kids I eat a small amount of the pasta I make them. |
True. Build around the protein. Add in 1TB olive oil for chicken. 1 piece dark chocolate. Even 1 glass wine. Now you hit your protein goals and can add in a few things that you like for flexibility. Or not, and eat a little more flexible on the weekend. |
I should add - this is specifically for cutting/losing fat purposes. Would not and could not be able to eat like this year round. Also eat more fats in luteal stage through beginning of period if you tend to get hungry around that time. |
That was part of my point. Most of the menus posted here just sound so incredibly bland. Enjoying food does not mean eating the entire buffet at every meal. It is just about appreciating different flavors. Most Europeans enjoy food and they are generally not fat. Most of them are not eating 1200 calories either. A fit, active woman should easily be able to maintain her weight at 2000+ calories, unless she is very small. |
