Can you tell me what a day looks like on a low carb/high protein 1300/1400 calorie a day diet? I am looking to meal prep but I'm not sure what to eat. |
You can't do "high protein" on that diet
I do we and my diet is about 1200 a day Breakfast : 2 eggs, 1 piece of sourdough bread, fruit Lunch: Salad with protein (tuna, sardines, chicken, turkey) snack: cottage cheese with fruit/tomatoes Dinner: Fish/Chicken and roasted veggies... sometime 1/2 potato or 1 cup of rice. |
Looks like an eating disorder |
You think the 2nd poster looks like an eating disorder? |
This is similar to what I eat. It's completely satisfying for me as a 46 year old woman. It wouldn't have been enough earlier in my life. I'm a healthy weight - if anything could stand to lose a couple pounds (5'6" and 150 lbs) |
Toast or whole grain cereal and berries for breakfast. Lunch is a grain bowl—brown rice, farro or quinoa topped with some chicken or hard boiled egg, sometimes chickpeas or edamame, plus assorted greens and raw or pickled veggies. Dinner is fish or chicken, a cooked veggie, a green salad, a small serving of potato or rice. Snack might be an apple or a glass of almond milk or goat cheese and crackers. I use Cronometer to track calories and nutrients. |
This is not a low carb diet, lol. |
7am: Coffee with milk (70)
9am: Tea (plain) 10:30 Oatmeal with fruit (200) 12:30 Large greens salad with eggs or tofu and dressing (350) 2:30 Chicken, veggies and pasta (400) 5:30 Miso soup (80) 7:30 Quinoa or large baked potato with veggies (250) and dressing or sour cream (50) --- I try to add a workout or two hours of walking (I try to take as many work calls as I can walking) most days, and then I can have a treat -- usually ice cream or homemade waffles or something along those lines (not pure sugar). On days I'm very hungry in the morning, I add nuts (walnuts or almonds, usually) and flax to my oatmeal. |
DP. This is similar to what a registered dietitian put me on. Maybe registered dietitians are promoting eating disorders. |
Today:
Veggie chicken for breakfast Protein coffee for lunch 1/2 a protein bar for afternoon snack Cup of soup with focaccia and other half of protein bar for dinner It's not pretty but it is helping me lose weight finally and I completely reversed diabetes and high blood pressure. |
Another DP. It's a healthy, balanced diet. This thread is in the wrong forum - should be in "Diet and Exercise" that's why you're getting lots of fatties complaining. |
I think you're my twin. I pretty much eat the same as you. I;m 46 and 4.11 and simply do not need any more food than this. |
Low carb is <130 carbs so yes it is low carb |
I eat everything, but usually between 3-6 bites of each. Just less food. |
Breakfast: greek yogurt, overnight oats
Lunch: legumes, greek yogurt, fruit Dinner: chicken, veggies, fruit Snack: yogurt or nuts |
