5-10 years in many cases

Is that for ES, MS, or HS?

Lots of turnover among HS principals lately. Beth Thomas has been at QO for six years, and she's currently the longest-tenured.

We are at QO and love Beth Thomas, although the kids are not too happy about changes she made to Red Army Generals / limitations…definitely has changed the vibe a bit during football games. The over the top student section was a huge selling point of the school, academics have been very meh (but we knew that going in and have always supplemented academics at home when possible).

Sorry? What did she do tonthr red army?

Rockville HS is not scary right now, it’s a totally normal HS. My 2 kids go there and neither of them are scared in school.

My kid graduated from RHS almost 2 years ago, it’s much better than that “burning fire” as he says Wood Middle School.

The new principal, Vickie Adamson, is just a big old question mark. She is a new principal and she honestly seems to be struggling in almost every arena. It's hard to say where the school is going, to be honest.

I liked Dr. Rubens. We were only there one year with Adamson, but I was less impressed with her, although I think she came in at a difficult time, and it's a tough school in ways that a principal can't fix.

Discipline got a lot worse that last year, and morale seemed terrible.

I am a big fan of Kennedy and its staff. The IB program was transformational for our kid, but I don't know re: the leadership.

We've also been happy with Mr. Brown at Einstein. I also like that the teachers and staff seem happy there - I also work in a school and think it's a sign of good leadership when the staff seems happy to be there too.

I think elementary principals in general are the weak link.

When was Mr. Brown at Blake? Christopher Berry was there from like 2001, then Bob Sinclair and now Ms. Snead.

He is really a big zero. Many, many staff do not like him at all. And he was universally disliked at Blake where he was before Einstein. I’m glad you’re having a good experience with him as a parent anyway!

He was AP at Blake.

My eldest son who had Billie-Jean Bensen (the previous RHS principal before she left), was not able to really connect with the school's community and had bad security during her administration at the time + her terrible handling during the rape case that happened 7 years ago.

The newer principal (Rhoshanda Pyles) doesn't seem any better, I will give points that she does seem to be engaging with her community a lot, but I have heard enough that she is unnecessarily an aggressive person and can't take things seriously to any level. She does like to interact with the students at the school, but parents don't think of it that way.

Didn't the new principal basically take charge on the entire homecoming dance last year? I heard she ended it early because the kids at the school were acting up and ruining the dance, which made her end it early. Still in any way, she has done a terrible job at handling it.

Consequences? More of this please!!

I don't know any other recent stuff with her. I really hope she doesn't do this mistake tonight with the schools new homecoming dance tonight.

It's not a mistake. This is the class of kids who were tearinf soap dispensers and sinks off walls and throwing them down hallways for tik tok challenges. Maybe not that school but these kids are completely out of hand and it's high time someone stood up to them. I don't k ow the principal but she sounds exactly like the leader that's needed in this environment.

This has nothing to do with what she did in any way of the homecoming dance.

She had ended the dance 30 minutes early because of crowd surfing in the school and the consumption of alcohol. And at some point, one kid had vomited on the dance floor during the dance. In any way, why the hell is the principal or even the security not being responsible enough to make sure the school handles enough safety for big events? It's literally their faults. They say they "ensure safety", when they have barely done anything to ensure awareness of their own students.

Rockville High sounds scary now.

It's not a bad school, but it's not as successful as it's neighboring high schools. I don't know what's with all the fuse involving the school's principal and security team, but it definitely needs improvement over there if you tell me.

There were rumors from students at that school that the principal is going through some allegations right now, though I think it's likely false since it hasn't reached the news yet.

Lol, what kind of allegations? Sexual allegations? Misconduct? False accusations?

Very disliked at RM as an assistant principal too. Not responsive at all to me or my kid who has an IEP

Funny enough I ended up getting a lot of help from the guy who is principal at Northwood when he was assistant principal at RM and it seems people like him there also

Dr. Garrick at Northwood is wonderful. He's kind, genuine, likes kids, and has a good rep among the staff as well, as far as I can tell.

Great! He's currently at Einstein for two months, supervising the principal intern.

Well...after the announcement today seems like he's headed back to Northwood.

Northwood's principal intern is becoming acting principal at Wootton. So Garrick is going back to Northwood.

I have not heard about any allegations with her. I have heard from a parent who had a kid go there that they were almost close to the process of filing a lawsuit against the principal and the school.

Not sure about the principal but the AD has been placed on leave by the county since the start of the school year. It’s been frustrating as a parent that we were provided absolutely zero details why, which is what leads to rumors starting.

No, as someone else said earlier, Mr. Wagner works at another school now, by his own choice. The AD (athletic director) is on leave, not an AP.

Mr. Wagner isn't at Rockville anymore. Searching his name up on the staff directory says that he has now moved to Rocky Hill MS. Either way with him gone, my kids had mixed thoughts with him and Ms. Kellison (who use to be Ms. Abuliak)
