Short Stature Adult Height

Best joke of the day. I'm 5'8" and felt a little inadequate in college, but now that I'm in my 40's, I'm very comfortable about my height. Also, I like taller women, so it's nice that there are some women taller than me.

I am 5 ft 0 inches and my DH is 6-3. Our adult son (21) make it to 5-9. He is handsome as h&ll (as is DH) and it's fun to watch the girls flirt with him.

So with him, he is over the prediction. That's awesome!

Np is it? I would think 5’6 is 5th percentile or so.

Nope, it's 10th-15th. I know since it's my husband's height. It's also taller than the majority of women FWIW.

Why because he’s a midget?

Citation please.

Total myth. Not true at all.

Sure, but let’s be honest:

5’6” is deep into short-man-energy territory.

This is so weird. Who thinks like that? Screams enmeshment or something.

I have a 5'6 dh and posts like these are sort of sad/puzzling, because my dh is a catch! I'm not sure what "short man energy" is other than perhaps projection that short = bad...it's not.

Truth, my husband is not tall and he is a jewel!! So handsome, funny, laid back, great husband and dad, Hard working, absolutely wonderful chemistry with me, a great son and brother and totally kills it at work (he’s in sales). Don’t believe the hype about anything and go live your lives!!

I’m 5’4” (mom) and DH is 5’9”. DS was always at a low percentile and at age 20 is 5’9.5” and is done growing. All the men in my family are tall and some women, too (not me 😊), and the paternal side of DH’s family is tall, but the maternal side are short and he took after her as did our son. DD is 5’7” so she tracked with the majority of the genes!

When did height become this important?

I don't recall height being this important when i was growing up. As long as you were taller than her in heels, there was no issue with height.

There are a LOT of tall women on here resentful of smaller women.

Social media makes it important.

Most of the posts I see are from short moms fretting that their son will be short like them.
