My son was expected to be 5 ft 4. I hoped he would eek out a few more inches. He surprised us! He’s 5 ft 11. His younger brother who was always a higher percentile is actually a few inches shorter. I don’t think prediction tools are that reliable.

With the 5'4 prediction was that based off of your heights or his height growing up?

Are you and the father also shorter?

My son has always tracked in the 25th percentile since he was about 3 years old and I am just curious if your kiddos followed their growth curve when they were on the shorter side. We as parents are smaller, I am 5'3 and he is 5'4, but our DS is tracking to be 5'7. It would be nice if he made it there, but I know that it doesn't always happen like that. Just curious, did your kiddos stay true to their curve?

If you are concerned about child's short stature, consult a child endocrinologist about clinical justification of using growth hormones.

It's not really a concern, just curious if other kids that have shorter parents stuck to their curves.

Some do and others don't, instead of looking for random anecdotes, ask your pediatrician for accurate statistics.

If parents are short, there is always a chance of children or grandchildren being short.

I am pretty sure this is a sub to ask other moms questions and share experiences. You do not have to comment.

In OP's case, anecdotal information isn't useless, statistical analysis would help so makes sense to nudge her towards a helpful resource.

my mom is 5-1 and my dad is 5-7. My brother got to 5-10, the tallest person in the extended family.

This is why you don’t marry short men if you are a short woman.

Marrying a tall man as a short woman doesn't always produce tall children.
