Short Stature Adult Height

My 5’0” SIL has two college age sons who are at least 6’0” like their dad so I don’t think that is true.

I’m 5’1” (DH is 5’11”) and our boys are in track to be 5’9 and 5’11”. My DD has been close to 80th percentile her whole life. Lots of short women have taller kids. Maybe not like 6’4” but the short woman/tall man combo is fairly common and I’ve see a lot of boys towering over their short moms.

My 6'1" husband has a 4'11" mom!

Not sure, but how is it being 4'11? My dd is a little shorter and hates how people view her as a child (she's 17) Does it change when you are an adult?

It doesn’t bother me a bit and that changes as you get older. I never had a shortage of dating options!

As long as she is petite and not fat she will be fine as an adult. I wen’t through the same when I was her age. The best thing she can do is make sure she stays physically fit.

No, he didn't, as he was in the 3rd percentile and is now in the 40th. However, he is still shorter than average. Not sure if that is the answer you are looking for.

Was it weird dating when everyone is bigger/taller than you? Are some guys really into shorter women?

Not really weird. I’ve always been attracted to taller guys.

I think guys like what they like so not sure my height was much of a factor. What helped me most was my self confidence thanks to my involvement in sports at a young age and my parents support.

I’m married to a wonderful man who is 6’2 and very happy.

I have always hated being short (like barely 5'). DH is 6'3" or so, and DS is about 5'11", and maybe still growing. Pediatrician thinks he'll hit 6', maybe.

Anecdotal but ds was always a little ahead of the curve and when he was very young they predicted 6'. He ended up topping out at 5'8". Dh is 6' and I am 5'4". So he is solidly in between the two of us. His sister is also on the petite side for a woman. Guess the smaller genes won out.

when did he start puberty? I think that matters.

Same exact stats here for our heights and ds' height. His sister is 5'2". Definitely the shorter genes won the race.
