Why did Biden work to free Brittney Griner but not these men?

He doesn't seem to be helping the 5 american hostages in Gaza either.

But the vape cartridge was against the law in Russia. Why respect one country’s laws but not another?

Oh are we taking Russia’s word for it?

Griner herself admitted she had marijuana on her.

She had a CBD vape pen.

No it was regular THC cannabis not CBD. Get the basic facts straight maybe?

It was doctor prescribed cannabis oil.

Maybe stop trying to paint her as some kind of junkie.

Or the 10 held by Israel.

Yesterday in response to the above I posted the message below - can’t remember the exact words but this is basically it:

If they are working on it, they are doing so incompetently given that these individuals have been held longer in a friendly country than Griner was held in an unfriendly country.

And my post was then deleted by the moderator. People can agree or disagree with my opinion but I really don’t understand what is objectionable about this post. The efforts of the board moderator to protect Democrats are truly puzzling at times.

What’s objectionable about it is that it’s a flat out lie. Griner was held for 10 months, these guys have been held for 2 weeks.

No one could be that dumb— are you a bot or a troll?

It’s hard to argue with stupid. Please try to follow along:

- pp said “CBD vape pen” in an attempt to minimize/excuse her stupid actions
- I corrected that inaccuracy with the fact that the oil was plain old THC that gets you high not just CBD
- then you confirmed my posted facts but don’t seem to comprehend what you are talking about

I fully support cannabis legalization and use but to pretend that she was carrying anything less than a full potency cape cart is disingenuous at best. I have been a user for decades so this isn’t about “painting her as a junkie” wtf.

MAGAs/authoritarians have no patience for grown up complexities. Like toddlers, they think everything should be done right NOW.

Once these ammo guys have been in prison for 10 months like Griner, I could understand the MAGA whining.

This whole thread is trying to make Griner seem unworthy of the help she recieved. You tried to paint her as a unworthy because she had "drugs" on her. I had originally read that it was a cbd pen for pain management. I corrected it upon learning it was regular cannabis, but I think the important thing here is that it was medicine prescribed by a doctor.

People talk about her case dismissively as though she's some kind of degenerate who deserved what she got, when we're talking about someone who was held in a Russian prison, charged with drug smuggling, because of some medicine her doctor prescribed.

To compare that to a couple of yahoos getting into trouble for illegally carrying a bunch of bullets in their luggage is kind of ridiculous.

The real issue here is you all resent a Black woman being treated like she matters.

I’m sure Griner never touch the stuff until she received that prescription.

Exactly my point. You're trying to paint her as a degenerate who deserved what happened.

A prescription from a US doctor doesn't make it legal in another country. Different countries have different laws. Ignorance is not a valid excuse.

12 years? Pretty harsh. I sure you’ve never made a mistake.

Wtf is the backstory that explains why they had bullets there and in their luggage??

Then you'd still be sitting in a Russian prison. Meanwhile, Griner is back in the U.S. with her family and back to work.

Are you really this naïve? The game is played differently in Russia.

I'd be in prison either way. Either I brought it or it was planted and either way I'm found guilty. But why admit it was mine if it wasn't?

Conditions of release. There could be no exchange with her calling Russia a liar. That should not be difficult to comprehend. Even in the US there are innocent people incarcerated who are unable to secure the parole without admitting guilt. You want out, just say you’re guilty and you can leave. And please stop saying what you would not do until you’ve lived a day with those circumstances.
