This was not a fight, this was an assault. That child should be charged. |
Do we have meaningful details yet? |
If the family requested this, then, OK. Otherwise, this is insanity. Why are they punishing the victim when they should be punishing the aggressor. Move the aggressor to an inconvenient and different school. Make that family jump through hoops, add time to their commute, and have the girl need to make a whole new Group of friends. |
One thing people should know is that there is no such thing as a permanent expulsion.
In MCPS, all expulsions are temporary. Hence, why expelled kids either come back to their home school or show up at another MCPS school. |
I am curious why you think news coverage invading this girl's privacy is important to you? |
Who are you people who think news organizations rush to cover fights in schools. Do you not understand how news works? |
Who is proud are you worried about the victim or the aggressor? |
Whose Privacy. |
The kids are not alright. It is unfortunate that soneone, or several kids, would record the fight, but not one person would break it up. |
You can get punished for trying to break up a fight, unfortunately. |
A fight that results in being transported to an out-of-state trauma center? Yes, that does seem newsworthy to me. That certainly was not the norm and hasn’t been the norm in this area. |
I agree that this should be covered in the news. MCPS is quiet. Always covering their butts. |
You can also get hurt or killed by intervening, unfortunately. Like that guy who tried to break up that NY subway fight and died in the crossfire. I told my kids it’s better to get help from authorities rather than try to step in. |
Fox 5 put the article back up after the clamoring of people talking about its disappearance |
It is the principal explaining why they couldn't stop the fight/assault before it ended on its own. I don't know if it's true, but it's a reasonable statement. |
