Well then why did the principal send out communication about it?

Ok, Anonymous. Funny that a person using their real name is posting details on NextDoor with their photo, etc.

The fight was between two seventh graders. It was very quick and only about 3 punches were thrown. My son showed me the video. It’s very sad. The school is not good at all. There have been MANY fights within the last year. The principle does not change anything!

A 12 year old girl using her hands caused brain damage?
Did she have a weapon in her palm or brass knuckles? That just doesn't add up unless she was trained to fight

It would make sense if she fell and hit her head and that caused the TBI.

Does anyone have any updates on how the child is doing?

I haven’t watched the video but it’s possible she hit her in a sensitive spot that caused the brain damage.

Did the girl fall and hit her head? A typical scuffled between two 7th graders is not going to lead to the kind of serious head injuries that were detailed here.

Mcps needs to get violent students OUT of the general population. There is a reason we used to kick these students out instead of shuffle them to a different school.

YES. We need to band together to demand this. Every high school has serious incidents every year. Some middle schools as well. This is not normal and should not be tolerated.

On ND, it is said that this victim is being transferred. Another poster says when she was a student and was attacked, she was transferred rather than the violent students.

It's really becoming exhausting to live around here. A school tucked away in the Shangra-la of family living has violence like this

Not like MCPS wants media attention. This will not show up in the ‘Five things you need to know’ email, or whatever they send every week.

Have charges been filed? Anything?

All they have said is that the victim will be transferred to a different school.

MCPS always punishes the victim.
