That is not when the child was injured. That is time of 911 call.

Yes. OP accidentally put “ES” in the subject line, but it’s a middle school. Dismissal is at 3:00.

You’re leaving under a rock if you think this type of behavior isn’t happening everyday at every school at every level.
Pop into your neighboring MS or HS. You’ll be welcome with the fresh scent of vapored marijuana, students roaming the halls using foul language, you’ll see bathroom doors off their hinges so kids can’t sneak into the bathroom to fight, vape, or have sex. Even the nicest of nice kids get wrapped up into this chaos! Yes even your little Johnny or Susie!

On a different note, the sad and crazy part is the Kentland and Lakelands kids have the reputation of doing the hardest drugs and having the very inappropriate sexual parties.

A girl has been assaulted and seriously injured while at her MS. Can you please stop arguing and say on topic? Is there an update?

What kind of update are you expecting?

The Principal is Rose Alverez and ever since ahe started there that school has become more and more unsafe. Reports of violence over the past 4 years seem much higher and nothing is ever done.

That letter from the school is appalling when they said staff were nearby as if they were how did she suffer such severe injuries. This was not a simple fight. Those kids should be arrested, tried and charged as adults.

The acting principal tweeted this 2 days after the attack

Last day of my principal practicum!! Huge hugs and thanks to my amazing students, dedicated staff, and our incredible community. Your warmth made this journey unforgettable! Thank you for an amazing 4 months. Monday, I'm back to 7th-grade admin adventures #Grateful

Wow, so they ask video should not be shared. I hope videos are shared or MCPS will cover this up too. I'm worried for my kid who will be going to MS next year.

Principal’s letter went out on Friday when the incident happened on Wednesday. As a parent, I would have expected something to be sent out that afternoon/evening.

There has been an interim principal for last 4 months

They didn’t send out a letter until after this was public as far as I can’t tell. They were probably hoping it would slide.

Or were hoping to protect the student who was injured.

It is appalling. Transport all the way to Fairfax INOVA means the injuries are incredibly serious. Otherwise she could have gone to Shady Grove hospital which is much closer and has a peds unit.

I hope videos are at least shared with authorities (police) and also social media so MCPS can't cover up what happened and the role of surrounding adults.
