Clifton annoys me, here's why

I have never once heard of VDOT planning to bypass the small town. Please cite your sources otherwise don't come in here and make up falsehoods.

For a fact I work for VDOT and know that nothing has ever been on the books about bypassing Clifton.

NO, we do NOT need a McDonald's IN THE CITY.

I’m trying to picture a McDonald’s in the little historic town area.

The French cafe fits much better that a cheesy McD.

Yes but the McDs would definitely put in good lighting. They’d light that lace up like Yankee Stadium.

The entire city is in the low point of a watershed area. They really should not develop more because it will end up like Ellicott City or worse.

Most of the houses in the area use septic. If the water levels go up, due to flooding due to parking lots and overdevelopment, it’s going to be terrible for everyone who owns homes there.

It’s zoned like a farm area for a reason.

If you want more dense housing- Burke and Springfield and Fairfax are less than a mile away for a reason.

Clifton is a 1/4 square mile “city” with 300 people. Plenty of elevated land around it.

DP but read the post.
Building on the nearby elevated land around the town will lead to tons of runoff and flooding.
There are other places to build in the county that make more sense.

I wonder who on this thread is familiar with Hillsboro and their recently completed infrastructure project. Has it led to increased traffic or other impacts?

Honestly it will be really nice to have some kind of chain quick serve as restaurant in the town. Something that fits in with the local architecture but doesn't take up too much space.

Clifton is about 5 mi away from Alexandria, you know nothing of what you talk about and should honestly be quiet while the adults talk.

Wdym no?? You’re saying it’s not rural? Just because it’s close to Alexandria doesn’t mean it’s not rural; also i don’t know what you’re smoking but it’s literally 20 miles from Franconia, the closest location with an Alexandria address. Go 20 miles out from Bethesda, you’ll be surprised how rural it is.

5 miles from Clifton is barely Fairfax Station. I think you’re the youthful one here.

I think you should stay in your lane and stop trying to educate people on a topic that you're wrong about.

There are about 15k people in the Clifton zip code (20124). It's more than just the town, unless you're a townie of course.
