Well she is an actress. They're sort of known for that, right? Serena is an athlete. Totally different mindset. |
You don’t think it’s because she’s American, a third rate actress and a wannabe influencer? |
BINGO!!! Her podcast is about how women are vilified for having ambition. Thank you for proving her point, albeit accidentally, PP. Bravo!! |
YES! This ^ |
Weird because if I saw MM in a grocery store I would think she was an old white woman. Or if not old at least middle aged. |
Oh, yes, I see. She's not good enough for those reasons. OK....
|
LOL |
Ok I'll bite here. I am a woman about Meghan's age who had those silly childish fantasies about snagging a prince (specifically Prince William ca. 2000). I don't like her but its not about her race. Its because she effed up the chance of a lifetime. She did what we all fantasized about doing. Normal American girl marrying into the Royal family (think Julia Stiles Mandy Moore oughts movies). But then she just met all British expectations of a brash American fish out of water....and seemed to want to be celebrated for it? Girl didn't play the long game..... |
Well she's an American and was a fish out of water. She was supposed to completely crush who she was and learn to be someone else to be the princess -- and she didn't do that. She was Cinderella, not the step sisters who cut off their feet to fit into the shoe. Sgain, Princess Diana did the EXACT SAME THING. She said hell no and threw it all away. And yet no one complains. |
Yeah those Princess Diana comparisons are too much of a stretch. She was an aristocratic teenage virgin when she married a guy who was fantasizing about his AP's tampons. But she gave it a go and held on for as long as she could. I don't really see her as having thrown it all away. Meghan gave it what....two years? She was smart, mature and knew how the world works....yet acted like she was the victim. She is not Diana...and I am not some Diana lover or hater. |
| Was it even two years? MM was there for enough time to wear a tiara, spend millions on clothes and a fancy wedding, have an anchor baby and then she was like wahhhh No one asks me if I’m ok!!!! And then left |
+1 I also dislike her for messing up the chance of a lifetime! I care about feminism, race, educating girls. She could have done a lot of good for those issues (yes even if it meant the highly imperfect BRF platform). But instead she traded the opportunity for real impact for … a podcast in California? Ugh. |
Part of having ambition is being smart enough to not walk away from opportunities. She gave up the platform of all platforms - being part of the RBF. She could of chosen any cause, been funded and changed the world. Now, she is mocked and barely taken seriously. She isn't being vilified, she gave up an extraordinary opportunity because she thought she was smarter than everyone else. |
| Pippa married way better - and no royal duties. Other than a title, what does Harry even offer? Seems Megs is going to have to make all the money going forward. |
| I don’t have strong feelings about MM either way. I think Harry is dumb as a box of rocks and don’t think he is qualified to speak on any serious subjects like climate change or race issues. I do think that MM didn’t do a good job of showing the public who she is before joining the BRF. Everyone keeps writing about hating her, loving her, etc. I feel like I knew nothing about her except she dated and married Harry. Maybe she needs a platform where she shows herself more so that she can garner some followers or fans. Maybe this podcast is that opportunity, although I won’t be listening to it! |
