| I lost track of the proven lies that she told in the Oprah interview. I mean she told lies that were pretty darn easy to look up and disprove. Ex: She saids that they had a secret or private ceremony I think she said the day before the wedding at the cathedral. The bishop had to come out and make a statement saying that, NO, there was no ceremony the day before. It was a meeting with M and H. Anyway, she has a way of twisting the truth and out-and-out lying. She is a narcissist. No substance at all! Like her 40 for 40 campaign she came out and declared on her 40th birthday. Nothing came of that. It's all for show. Nothing to do with race by the way. It is down right insulting to black women who see-through her to suggest that we are racist. So the old white woman that suggested that in an earlier post should stop and think about that a bit. It's racist to think all blacks (or ANY person) has to think in lock-step with the crowd they supposedly "identify" with. |
Well good for her, she got him. Not many people could have snagged the prince of england just because they set out to. She did. I'm wondering why you are so bitter and jealous? You sound like you're describing someone you actually know, like your frenemy or the Queen Bee at your kids' school. Do you know Meghan Markle? |
Well this is her first one. I'm sure she will get better with time and practice. |
| I was puzzled by her claim that she only became exposed to the idea of female ambition as a negative after she met Harry. What? So was she living under a rock for all of her twenties and some of her thirties? This did not help her point, it makes her sound either clueless (if true) or just not honest. Neither is good. I agree also with the point that it is 2022, not 1952....she's not speaking in a nuanced, deep way about these issues and that was disappointing. I expected more and better. Maybe she can improve. |
Do you know her, since you’re jumping so vigorously to her defense? |
You don’t know many people. |
It’s not a good look either when Meghan fangirls can’t complete a single thought without insulting Kate. |
Probably the way she was treated by the media and other detractors is what she means. And yes, people openly call her a gold digger and money-hungry etc etc. If she had been demure and weak and acquiescent -- unambitious -- she would have been accepted. |
\Why do we have to tear Kate down to uplift Meghan? |
I get what you're saying |
Have I insulted Kate? |
Serena is liked because of her ability and talent. Not because of her personality or speaking ability. Meghan is a decent actress but seems to do better when someone else wrote the script. And doesn't seem to realize that. |
This was a core part if the problem...Tina Brown's view is she espouses an independent,, American/feminist perspective but obviously the Royal family is not a democracy and it is an antiquated, deeply rooted institution that does not easily change, if they change at all. It's maybe an inch every 100 years. So she was screwed, yes. But if she veers into too much of this she risks coming off as a victim which will work against her, it's a delicate balance. Because really...she is saying women are ambitious and should be allowed to embrace their space at the table. But she also says people think if you're strong you deserve punishment and that's not right. (Ok). But you can't want a place at the table and then wilt when it gets hard or be in need of excessive sympathy. Take that to therapy, not a podcast. Just my opinion. |
Even men who do this are shunned...she's ambitious and wants to play in the big leagues. And she did....but she can't take the hits and move on in due time...she should take a lesson from Serena. She's got to learn to let some sh*t go. Rise above. This first episode was self involved, hope she moves beyond it |
When it comes to Meghan Markle, yes, a lot of you old biddies have made it about race. At least be honest. We are on an anonymous website. |
