Disgusted/Deflated. We make combines $350 & can't afford jack

So, to clarify: You CAN afford things. So it's not true that you "can't afford jack." It just means you can't get what you want to pay for.

You can find a cheaper house that fits your budget. I'm sorry it won't be as grand as perhaps you envisioned, but you CAN find it. This is what most people do -- adjust their expectations.

Granted this is not "relatively newer" but something has to give with your expectations.

NP who lives in VA - I like that one, altho some will balk at the schools. This one just hit the market and will go fast:

3br, 2ba. Relatively newer build. minimum half acre

Why would anyone build a 3br house on half an acre in the DMV? If you have that much land, your house will be much larger. It is an odd combination.

Bc OP has no clue what they’re looking for.

I like this one a lot but clearly what makes it cool is not the size of its own lot, it’s all the wooded land it backs up to.

The half an acre is a ridiculous ask for close-in.

Aldie

LOL! Newer houses are built in muxh smaller lots, even in Loudoun.
To get a half acre, you need a house from 1980.

Maybe some people like a big yard.

Peop le are being too hard on OP. What he/she wanted was possible - 10 to 20 years ago ( adjusted for inflation). Prob people chiming in now got theirs and don’t realize how different things are now.

No, people were not buying new houses on close-in half acre lots 10-20 years ago because even back then that didn’t exist in the DC area.

And for those accusing troll. We want to spend max $720. For our salary, etc. it is upsetting we can't get what we want.

The rich man stormed out of Starbucks, grumbling, "What rude employees! I want a cup of coffee for 25 cents! I make a million dollars per year-- why can't I get a cup of coffee for 25 cents?!"

No we’re not. We are being realistic and living in reality. OP thinks that DC prices are like Indianapolis or some other small major city. Even 10 years ago, you couldn’t get what OP wants inside the beltway.
