Masks - it’s finally happening!

Cases being up does not mean people are more immune, wut? Cases being up means people are catching it more, not less. If folks are not going to the hospital or dying as much, great, but this larger number of people are still subject to the long term complications that can kill them later, so ... yay for lifted mask restrictions?

it's bizarre that the covid deniers are now trying to spin more cases as a good thing

I have heard people say it - just get it over with, everyone else has. 90% of my family and extended family has not had Covid - they are still masking. It's a hard decision to risk it, unmask because even though the mandate is off, the disease is still here.

All you have to do is look at the numbers to know 'everyone' has not had COVID. But some people who had it want to think so.

ZOMG! Case counts and death are higher now than <some arbitrary cherry-picked sample in time>, therefore <some action X>!

Just let these people wear their masks forever and be scared. At least we’ll know who to avoid in a year when Covid is basically gone and forgotten. Some people will never move on.

Not everyone tests or reports it.

I have not covid, either with or without symptoms. But I am living my life normally, unmasmked.

But the truth is that I could not give less of a sht what percentage where a mask or don’t as long as I don’t have to.

Most of the people still masking are either neurotic or virtue signaling, but not all of them and I don’t care enough to distinguish one from the other as long as my own beautiful smile is uncovered.

I don’t get sick pay, so if I get COVID I can’t work and don’t get paid. That’s why I wear a mask.

I had a meeting in Arlington yesterday, but arrived early and walked around some neighborhoods.

4/4 times, people went off the sidewalk/path when walking towards each other. Do I look diseased, or are people STILL doing this absurdness?

One person had a dog, so that's reasonable (and thoughtful). But the other 3 people were just people walking by themselves. Paths were 3-5 feet wide, and plenty of space for two people to walk past each other.

Uh...this is not something that should be bothering you. You have issues.

Yes, because we work for a living and don't want to get Covid. Thanks for your consideration.

PP here, and I also work for a living, hence my mention of going to a meeting. I just arrived early and wanted to get some exercise and not waste time.

And yes, stepping off the sidewalk is weird at this point in time. That's what we did 18+ months ago.

Yeah they weren’t taking their masks off last summer either even though they reference it now as the model to shoot for.

Are you planning to do this indefinitely, or just until you find a job with sick pay?

Ironically in the past week, we know several people who are Covid positive including kids, most are testing at home, including us. Is it a localized outbreak in Northern VA?
