| customers at Arlington store are now about 50-50 unmasked, if not more. I feel like we’ve really turned a corner. My kids’schools and activities also now mask optional. I’ve never been so hopeful! |
It will be a slow process, but that's a positive sign. |
| I've been trying to talk my kids into going maskless to school but they refuse. They told me that everyone is still masking and they aren't willing to be the first ones (even my kid with glasses who hates his mask). |

I’ve have a lot of fun laughing at the mask lovers, both here and IRL.
But the truth is that I could not give less of a sht what percentage where a mask or don’t as long as I don’t have to. Most of the people still masking are either neurotic or virtue signaling, but not all of them and I don’t care enough to distinguish one from the other as long as my own beautiful smile is uncovered. |
... So you don't have kids. |
What? That makes no sense. Do you think parents WANT kids to be in masks? I have kids and want to be able to have them not mask at school. Hell, I'd like if they could unmask OUTSIDE AT RECESS. But they still aren't even allowed to do that. |
You said you don't care about anything beyond displaying your own smile. So you don't care whether kids can be masked or maskless. If you have kids, you don't care about them. |
My kid in MS is still hanging on to the mask mostly due to peer pressure, but my ES dropped it the first day he was allowed (he also says only ~3 kids in his class are still masking, and that his teacher whom he really likes isn't either), so it's easier for him on that level as well. |
What school is this? Our APS has tons on masking. |
PP here (not the quoted one). I think it varies widely by level, more older kids are still masking b/c of peer pressure whereas the young ones care less about that. Which is probably good b/c the youngest need the most help learning social cues, etc. |
Completely agree 100%. I've never had so much fun buying and wearing lip gloss! |
| Most of DD’s elementary school is unmasked now and it’s (wild guess) maybe 70% unmasked in stores around here. One hour outside of DC is like an entirely different world. |
You poor thing. I don't know how you've made it this far . . . |
I bet there is little about you that one would describe as "beautiful." I can think of a few other adjectives, though. |
Your mom and sister both disagreed. At the same time. |
