Masks - it’s finally happening!

I have coworker who has a compromised immune system. I'm wearing my masks. Such a small behavior that has really become habit. Of course I'm virtual signaling. I'm signaling to my staff that I care about our colleague?

It's also nice not to go through as much lipstick. LOL

Because more and more people are simply not willing to play along with this stupid game, and people like you who are clinging to masks as a safety shield against humanity are going to have to either lighten up, or stay inside for the rest of your lives.

I just got back from a Giant in DC - 50% were masked, tops, including employees. When I was last there on Saturday, it was closer to 80%.

Today at the Vienna Whole Foods I saw a lady with the big mask and the plastic face shield. She is either completely neurotic or super virtue signaling because she can do pick up or delivery if she is truly sick. There is no need for that crazy.

This was my MIL a few weeks ago in Florida. Her husband had terminal cancer and was undergoing immunization treatments along with being on a ton of other medication. She was also very particular about the food she purchased for him so didn't want to do online ordering. I guess that counts as crazy? Especially since he died anyway? Maybe I'm weird but I would've looked at the Whole Foods woman and hoped her or her loved ones were okay instead of judging her as crazy/neurotic/virtue signaling. Wow.

or maybe she would die if she were to become infected or maybe she could kill someone else with an infection.

I will continue to do all the things and wear my mask where I please. The choices are not go maskless or stay inside, sugarplum.

I get thinking they are kind of annoying, but people are so weirdly excited about this, like every minute was torture. I'm sure they genuinely feel this way, but I don't get it. My mom has severe claustrophobia -- wearing a mask was genuinely difficult for her at the outset. But these people who are SO EXCITED? Was it really so awful? Are you all claustrophobic? It just didn't register in terms of hardships I've experienced in my life.

For the same reason you stop doing anything that’s annoying once it’s proven ineffective. Cloth masks didn’t work and most likely made things worse.

The virus was barely a blip when I had it. Pretty weak enemy. If I could go back to March 2020, I would not take a single precaution other than the vaccine once available. Every second in a mask, every cancelled plan, all of it was a waste.

This. Also it means people are finally saying NO to the covid theatre that reduced our QOL but didn’t prevent the spread.
