I believe they’re mostly getting Pfizer and AZ. Typical of most of the rest of the non-US world that didn’t cut corners with the cheap Russian/Chinese vaccines. The Omicron surge comes for all of us eventually. The only question is, is a country’s population vaccinated enough with good vaccines or young enough to avoid huge numbers of deaths? |
Hi, that's me. I also touch crosswalk buttons, self checkouts, doorknobs/door handles and then eat things. I get one cold once every 5-6 years or so. Last stomach bug was 11 years ago. Also never got covid, despite working in person, going to the gym in person maskless (and not wiping things down because I'm not a germophobe), don't wear a mask in stores. I am vaccinated, however. Personally I think there's nothing more revolting than someone who thinks "germs" are some terribly awful boogeyman to be avoided for the sake of your health. Yeah good luck with that. |
| Why do you people care so much about what others are doing? Worry about yourself. I will wear a mask wherever I please and it’s none of your business why but for the record I have horrible allergies and chemical sensitivities. Wearing a mask has cut down on a lot of weird reactions I used to get in public, especially to cleaning chemicals in stores. So mind your own business. |

Masks are really disappearing around where I live. I must say when I popped into Whole Foods this morning and saw a mother with two young children, all firmly masked up, my first thought was that it's starting to look like child cruelty, especially with more and more studies coming out showing how the masks negatively impact young children's development.
|
As the mother of a young child let me assure you my masked 4 year old is completely fine. |
A lot of people would disagree with you. The kids I know who are still being put in masks have mothers with extreme anxiety and controlling tendencies. I don’t know of any normal mothers who are still putting masks on their kids to leave the house. |
If you say so. |
Because masking is the same as the other covid theatre that has reduced our QOL for two years but didn’t keep covid from spreading. It’s the same nonsense that closed schools, our our kids behind screens for years, injected our kids with an EUA vaccine that doesn’t stop transmission etc. By wearing a mask, you’re basically advertising to the world that you support these measures and you are to blame for what we all had to go through. |
Oh please. 50% of kids at the local playground are still wearing masks and more kids are wearing them indoors. I actually care about protecting my kid until he can get his vaccine so I will keep masking indoors. Sorry if that upsets you! Let me guess, do you have a “spirited” 5 year old you just couldn’t get to wear a mask? |
Mildly curious, do you even bother reading the studies showing the risk of hindering developmental progress in young children due to prolonged masking? Given how little of a risk COVID is to young children to the point that other developed countries have stopped recommending they be vaccinated, I'm left wondering if the people who still mask and say they're waiting for vaccines are trapped by a certain dogmatic belief rather than anything genuinely scientific? I suppose I can see why, when you spent the last two years blindly accepting a whole range of actions and statements as the truth, it's very hard to let it go when it turns out they were far from the truth. COVID is not going away. So are you going to mask up forever? |
Perfect example of anxious older DC mom. |
+1 |
Nope sorry not an older mom! I had my kid in my early 30s which is pretty average around here. |
Oh FFS. I don’t like to get snarky on here but what you said sounds deranged!! I mean what the ever living… |
And I’m talking specifically about bling people who wear masks for what you went through over the past few years. That’s just alarming. |
