Drones now rule the battlefield.

What hasn’t Ukraine used drones on that convoy outside Kyiv?

That column outside Kyiv has largely been stuck for lack of logistics. They are using the drones on the Russian fuel trains and on the columns that didn't run out of fuel.

I have a question based out of total ignorance here - what happens to this convoy now? I assume that the original plan was for it to roll into Kyiv, enable everyone/equipment to take up positions and then attack.

Are the soldiers just sitting there with the trucks or what? I just don't understand how it's sitting there and just ... hanging out. I guess it makes sense on the one hand, but it seems weird. I keep imagining that scene in Lord of War where he lands the plan in the middle of nowhere and within 24 hours nothing is left.

There's evidence the tires are blowing out on Russia's Pantsir-S1. This suggests deferred maintenance, resulting in reduced ability to off road them - forcing the convoys to stay on paved roads. I guarantee you this is not just a problem with the Pantsir-S1 and has become a nightmare for their logistics command.

Probably corruption.

Probably corruption.

Possibly, but who of us hasn’t let basic maintenance go over the past two years?

If I were NATO I would call his bluff. Maybe 20 nukes from Russia hit something; upside is the entire Russian population is eliminated and global warming slows down. Win-win.

It is hard to believe Putin is this smart. He lined up a baited convoy from Iraq’s highway of death. Literally drones could have killed the entire convoy in about 24 hours.

I really think the Russians are a paper dragon.

Why haven’t drones taken down that damn convoy?

It blows my mind that the rest of the world watches this and sits on their hands.

Past 2 years? Takes a bit longer than 2 years for tires to dry rot and blow out.

Do not kill oppressed peoples and make them suffer even further. Russians have literally never had a government prioritize their wellbeing. It's easy to say: "they should rebel", and they have, several times in their history, but it takes a lot to wake an oppressed and brainwashed people. They're just surviving.

We should have a reminder on every new page that NATO attacks on Russia will trigger WWIII. And vice-versa.

Ukrainians are the hands, we provide weapons. That's already stretching it.

Now their vehicles and armor have to be abandoned when they run out of gas and the lucky conscripts are given MRE's that expired in 2015. The unlucky ones get nothing. It's been a complete self-inflicted failure and humiliation.

Is this just conjecture? How do do you know this? Are you Russian? Do you have a Russian soldier in Ukraine who's eating expired MREs? Link?

Many of the Russian soldiers are in mismatched uniforms. They couldn't even properly clothe them. The kleptocracy is real.

It's all over. Just search for expired russian rations. There's video and it's been corraborated. The rations were made in 2013 and expired in 2015. It's been a disaster and even worsw an embarrassing disaster. The Russian people should be absolutely pissed off. If only they knew what was happening.

They were used to soften up the Ukraine. Russia's advanced weaponry and elite divisions till haven't really been deployed yet. People shouldn't get confident at all that Russia has been 'struggling'. They are just getting warmed up, so I wouldn't extract a whole lot from the first week of combat.

Why, though? Why would they send their worst troops first?

They'll know in time. It's a global world now and you can only hide obvious public facts from your people for so long. They've been part of a global world for long enough, now, that they're not going to go back behind the iron curtain willingly.
