Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)
If people of any race want to pay for extensive prep courses, they should expect to receive a test that reflects this. The students who are unable to pay for prep courses should receive a basic test, the preppers receive a modified test based on the number of prep hours paid for by their parents. Or better yet, eliminate the useless test. |

Mismatch theory anyone?
https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/12/the-needlessly-polarized-mismatch-theory-debate/420321/ Mismatch is a book by Richard Sander, interesting reading, especially with the contraversy surrounding the new TJ admissions standards. |
Or better yet, eliminate all tests not whichever is convenient for you. |
This kind of thinking totally escapes me. How exactly are Asians fighting hard to keep everyone else out of a magnet school? Don't all students take the same test? Say there is a public high school cheerleading team/ rowing team/ lax team/ debating team etc. (all competitive) that is 90% white and someone suggested adjusting the racial makeup of the teams so that it is more reflective of the local population, by lottery. Of course you are going to get push back- and is anyone going to rant against "whites fighting hard to keep all other races out of these teams"? Of course not. |

Can you explain to me which tests are acceptable to prep for and which tests are not? MCAT, SAT, LSAT? Med boards, Bar exam, CPA? Oxford and Cambridge have math specific entrance exams? Should all test prep be banned? How about interview prep for jobs or college admissions - any prep allowed for that? I'm sincerely asking, I don't understand why prepping is seen as bad. Is it an economic issue? There are many parents of all colors who scrimp and save to pay for test prep. There are non profits offering free tutoring. The schools should offer free tutoring to any student who wants to prep. Parents with disposable income of course have it easier, they can afford test prep. Outside of the economic issues, parents have to be willing to prioritize schooling to their children. I'm not sure how to equalize that. |
You equalize through a lottery according to the Superintendent. |
They made a movie about it. The school is in Alexandria. They're going to change their name soon. Based on the uproar by white people, and the arguments about W-LIBERTY HS, lesson not learned I guess. |

" What are you going on about? None of this toxic behavior is going to make anyone have any more sympathy for Asians fighting as hard as they can to keep everyone else out of a magnet school. Your TJ is dead. None is going to bring it back now - certainly not this - and you’re ensuring people will vote against Asian political candidates in the future if you actually ever muster the courage to run."
Toxic behavior? Lol, okay, we'll start looting and setting stuff on fire. Lol, muster the courage to run? What courage does it take exactly? Why come to this thread and post when it has nothing to do with you. OR DOES IT? Did your kid fail to test in? Honestly, what other reason would you be so vested in a thread that has nothing to do with you. |

Lol! I know, so funny if only it wasn't true

| Sigh. This used to be a nice place to live. |
Until liberal dems went insane pandering to blacks. Time to riot, loot and burn. |
Yes, bingo, it is an economic issue. The free prep courses provided aren’t of the same caliber as the expensive paid for prep courses, no comparison. You are basically paying for a high score. Not everyone is able to scrimp and save for a prep course, it’s just not economically feasible for many. |
Because they are dumb and lazy. |
Hey, if people, black, white, pink, green, want to pretend that prep courses don’t drastically help improve scores, go ahead. You are delusional. |

I understand you can pay for better tutoring. But doesn't that apply to all testing? I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I think society is never going to reach a utopian level of economic equality. There will always be economic disparity and I actually think the US is one of the best countries in the world regarding equality. I think testing and blind admissions is the closest we can get to equality in terms of admission to competitive schools |
