PP here and I agree with everything you've said. I think the increased risk--absent other medical risk factors--would be more significant only for the very obese, not necessarily those in the barely obese category. |
Clean? ![]() Virus free ..maybe. Clean? No, imagine the amount of chemicals injected into the space to decontaminate it. |
No time to worry about organic products |
Isn't the actual mortality rate potentially much lower than the 2-3% discussed in the media? The death rate being reported is based on the number of diagnosed cases, but presumably there are probably thousands of additional undiagnosed cases where people had no or mild enough symptoms that they never were officially diagnosed. |
No, it's higher. You have to compare recovered vs deaths. Currently that's 6%. China tested WAY more than any other country is. I also read that asymptomatic people later did get it too. |
To the PPs discussing obesity, “protective factors”, etc.... do y’all have medical or science degrees? Somehow, I doubt it. |
Breathing this will hurt those kids more then the virus ever would. |
Three new deaths in Washington state. The Street’s not gonna like that. |
I'm the PP that mentioned the 40% American obesity rate, and speaking for myself, I do. I have a Ph.D. in a research field that focuses on risk and protective factors in the general population, although not anything to do with infectious disease per se. |

Four more for a total of six, in Washington state. https://www.cbsnews.com/live-updates/coronavirus-outbreak-death-toll-us-infections-latest-news-updates-2020-03-02/ |
This only further underscores the working theory that the virus has been there for weeks and weeks and that there are hundreds of undiagnosed cases. |
Apparently CDC will not be disclosing any numbers on Americans tested or diagnosed, according to a post in politics forum. |

Where are you getting the 6% number?? Everything I’m reading seems to give 1% max. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/health-51674743 |
