Is there or isn’t there a crisis on the border?

Frustration grows among migrants in Mexico as support fades

But this time, the help did not come. The outpouring of aid that once greeted Central American migrants as they trekked in caravans through southern Mexico has been drying up. Hungrier, advancing slowly or not at all, and hounded by unhelpful local officials, frustration is growing among the 5,000 to 8,000 migrants in the southern state of Chiapas.

. . .
Mexico is under pressure from the Trump administration to thwart them from reaching the U.S. border. In April, President Donald Trump threatened to close the U.S.-Mexico border before changing course and threatening tariffs on automobiles produced in Mexico if that country does not stop the flow of Central American migrants.

U.S. border facilities have been overwhelmed by the number of migrant families. U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced recent that 53,000 parents and children were apprehended at the border in March.

Oh you mean Mexicans dont want their towns overrun with people taking up resources that should be for their own citizens? Must be racists!

Im glad they're getting fed up too. Maybe now they will actually secure their southern border.

Hopefully.

+1

I guess I'm wondering where the help from the international community is if we are signatories to an international treaty? This is obviously overwhelming our resources

Anyone care to speculate?

Which Presidential candidate has the best solution to the border issue?

So far Trump is the only one even willing to acknowledge there is an issue at the border.

Castro is the only one who has expressed a position. He wants amnesty. That would make the problem triple within a few months when people think they will get amnesty.

This is why democrats will get creamed in 2020.

Trump created the humanitarian crisis at the border. Other than awarding contracts to cronies for what are essentially new prisions, the rest is noise.

Note, we have heard NOTHING of this "emergency" in months.

What exactly would you do about the border problem?

Democrats and their non profit counterparts have sued to stop every single thing Trymp has done to address the border crisis. It is disingenuous to say that Trump is doing nothing. I wish these people would just come right out and say they want open borders. They are doing everything in their power to tactically make it so. Why not have the guts to come right out with it.

I think this is an inherent issue of the US legal system when anything countering asylum laws abuse is being challenged in courts. And usually rolled back.

NYT reports that the federal appeals court ruled that asylum seekers CAN be sent to Mexico to wait for trial.

What on earth are you talking about? A simple Google search has several articles about the border crisis written within the last few days. Do you know how to google?

NY Post is reporting that citizens in the southern states of Mexico are finally fed up with all the migrants overwhelming their towns bring violence, crime and beggars and taking up resources. Maybe this will be fixed sooner rather than later if their own Mexican citizens demand that their president enforce their southern border.

It will suddenly become a crisis again right in time for the next election.
