Curious if the national media spotlight will finally be what gets the BOE out of hiding?

+1 Maybe if there is a national spotlight on this, our county leader and BOE would be embarrassed to make a change? IDK. I'm sure the national spotlight will cause my friends/family to freak out and start texting me.

Interesting point. Does anyone have the link to this segment?

Anyone know any more!?!

And did we know about this? It happened earlier this month. WJ reports it now has a student (studying virtually) arrested for firearms.

Sources tell me the 15yo victim is undergoing a second surgery today and that hospital staff can’t stop the bleeding.

In court, prosecutors stated the victim is “fighting for his life.”

A judge denied bond for Alston Jr., but approved a transfer to a juvenile detention center.

UPDATE: Magruder High School security became aware of the critically injured student at 12:53p Friday, per MCPD Chief Marcus Jones.

Yet, based on police radio traffic, the first arriving police unit did not request backup until 1:21p, 28 minutes later.

Based on past history, no. There was the Rockville alleged gang rape where the public found out only becuase MoCo police issued a statement (nothing from MCPS) on a Thursday. It hit national news by the weekend since the suspects were undocumented immigrants. BOE stayed silent until their next scheduled meeting the following Tuesday.

maybe they did or were scared they would be shot.

I haven't had an opinion on the SRO debate but and SRO would not have waited 28 mins to call for back up.

I mean okay but please, Jawando first. It’s enough that this MAY have been avoided with SRO in the school. Hope he has trouble sleeping at night after this (and sending his kids to private school in the morning.) Shame on the voters of this county for electing him.

Voters will keep voting for this trash until THEIR kid gets shot.

They did not wait 28 minutes to call. There was a 28 minute time lapse between the incident and arrival of the police. No one has explained that. But it wasn’t a 28 minute wait to call.

But I thought there are beat patrols in the community who can quickly arrive during time of need. At least that's what our trustworthy county council promised us. Remember how much they kept saying how they were merely reimagining SROs?

I thought I heard that the initial call was for an "injured person" and not a shooting?
