Van Lifer couple camping in Utah national park - two weeks later fiancee arrives in FL alone

Anonymous
I watched the over an hr. of police body cam footage of the 8/12 incident on YouTube.

It saddens me to see Gabby so sad & crying - she appears so vulnerable when she speaks to the authorities. 😢

Brian, on the other hand comes off as a bit of a sociopath.
He totally is giving me Chris Watts vibes > left + right.

My thoughts are with her family now.
I cannot even imagine their grief right now being in such emotional limbo.

The fact that Brian went missing yesterday makes me think that he likely murdered her and knows it is only a matter of time before he is found guilty of the crime.
So he went somewhere & killed himself to avoid spending the rest of his life in prison which for someone his age is a LONG time.

Just read that Brian’s body may have been found where they were searching.

Area they were searching:

This is wrong. He was moving their stuff OUT of the storage unit into his parents’ place, presumably to save money.

Where did you read that? The article you linked does not say that.

Thank you, now that makes sense.

Someone reposted a tweet that reporters were saying a body found has been found, identity not confirmed. Can’t find an original tweet to post. Hopefully not a sick joke

His parents said he left on Tuesday with his backpack to go to the reserve, and haven't seen him since. What in God's name is wrong with them? They waited 3 days to tell their lawyer, who then told police. They didn't think of possible suicide given the state he was in? They didn't go to the reserve when he didn't return on Tuesday. Something very wrong with his parents. Is it possible Gabby was in the van with him when he returned to Florida on 9/1? Investigators received tips that they saw the couple at various stops heading away from Moab, Teton or wherever he left from.

He actually went to do the opposite, to move things that were in a storage unit out of that storage unit. At least according to what Gabby’s contacts know or were told was the purpose of the trip.

Which brings up a lot of questions since they obviously had indicated in other scenarios money was tight. I’m not sure who paid for the plane ticket, but obviously storage unit fees are going to be less. So it’s hard to understand why you would fly from UT to FL just to move things out of a storage unit. At the same time, this is a time when Gabby is known to be alive and able to communicate with others.

So at this point I guess it’s just speculation as to whether that was an excuse and it was really his parents getting him a ticket so they could “evaluate” things in person, or something like that. I guess he also could have had something “suspicious” in the storage unit he didn’t want anyone else to see, but again this doesn’t really seem to add up with the timeline. Most modern storage units have surveillance footage in common areas, so no doubt this trip is part of the investigation and investigators have already tracked his movements on the UT-FL round trip extensively with the known timestamps of the flights. He would have been in a lot of areas with surveillance.

I lean towards the trip being unconnected to any crime just based on the timeline, but probably linked to “signs” that things were going wrong.

So, clearly Laundrie's family is neck deep and have helped him flee. He won't talk to the police, they won't talk to the police, and then all of the sudden their lawyer sets up a conversation with the police so they can tell the police that Brian...entered a wildlife reserve and they haven't seen him since Tuesday.

https://www.npr.org/2021/09/18/1038543489/gabby-petito-brian-laundrie-missing-boyfriend?utm_campaign=npr&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_term=nprnews&fbclid=IwAR2lgDW4jY2DBLP8pIBn0irS0rk8BykNuJQO6zA-0j_5Su7GdvAEH5zQ8iA

I also want to say that I don't understand statements like this/find them to be unhelpful:

"It is important to note that while Brian is a person of interest in Gabby's disappearance, he is not wanted for a crime," North Port police said in Friday's statement. It added that the investigation is now a "multiple missing person" case."

Do they say this stuff in the hopes of making the obvious suspect think he isn't a suspect? I mean, 2+2 isn't going to equal 5, no matter how you slice it.

And how did they not have surveillance on Brian Laundrie? Or a wiretap order on his and his family's phones? There would certainly seem to be enough here to warrant that.

You can’t get a wiretap with no evidence. Like it or not at the moment there is 0 evidence of a crime

Ridiculous. If Brian was a stranger to her or they had met on the road and he had showed up with HER van, no sign of her, and refusing to tell police exactly where he had seen her last, he would be in jail right now.

This is just another example of how intimate partner violence, overwhelmingly committed by men, against women, is minimized.

He should at least been under physical surveillance. You don't need a warrant for that.

Pp again. Northport police confirmed this is a false report. No body found or at least not his body. It's a shÂĄtshow on Reddit/Twitter.

He doesn't act like he has good sense, so I assume either are possible.

Ok yes. So if we can move past the inane chatter about her being an abuser who shouldn't be on social media, we can center on the real issue, which you have succinctly summarized here: either he abandoned her or killed her. I'm curious whether people think abandoned or killed is more likely?

I think abandoned, that she ran off during a fight and he left her behind.

Really? In what universe did she run off and he just drove home without contacting anyone? What type of mental gymnastics do you have to do to reach this conclusion?

Anyone thinking his parents sent him away? Remember that kid who committed a crime and parents sent him to Israel? Can’t remember the details…

People said that she feared being abandoned on the tape, so that seems unlikely. Unless she was running away because she thought he was going to kill her.
