So, clearly Laundrie's family is neck deep and have helped him flee. He won't talk to the police, they won't talk to the police, and then all of the sudden their lawyer sets up a conversation with the police so they can tell the police that Brian...entered a wildlife reserve and they haven't seen him since Tuesday.

I also want to say that I don't understand statements like this/find them to be unhelpful:

Do they say this stuff in the hopes of making the obvious suspect think he isn't a suspect? I mean, 2+2 isn't going to equal 5, no matter how you slice it.

And how did they not have surveillance on Brian Laundrie? Or a wiretap order on his and his family's phones? There would certainly seem to be enough here to warrant that.[/quote]

Ridiculous. If Brian was a stranger to her or they had met on the road and he had showed up with HER van, no sign of her, and refusing to tell police exactly where he had seen her last, he would be in jail right now.

This is just another example of how intimate partner violence, overwhelmingly committed by men, against women, is minimized.

He should at least been under physical surveillance. You don't need a warrant for that.[/quote]
