Why so many people hate New England Patriots?

| My SIL, Bronco's fan texted as she is leaving a hospital after a serious health issue, how she is cheering for the Eagles. Another SIL, no connection to PA, texted she is rooting for the Eagles. I am an immigrant so might be clueless, but it seems that this hate goes much deeper than inflate-gate, envy, rooting for the underdog and has been present long before Brady and that coach were connected with Trump. So, what gives? Do you have the Patriots, and why? Or is it just news hyping it to have interesting headlines. I am aware of the sports news propensity for over the top stories and reporting, sometimes terms they use are hilarious. WDYT? |

People hate them because they are unbeatable and it’s kind of boring after a while.
I’m of the opinion that if they do cheat (and I don’t know enough or care enough to nail that one down), it’s no more or less than any other team in the NFL cheats. I find that to be a kind of lame-sounding complaint. They’re just better than everyone else. |

Cheater accuser, what are you even talking about? One of the cheating situations (the videotaping) was proven but pretty minor league. Also, it was harshly punished and over a decade ago. The other cheating incident was totally misrepresented by a reporter (who retracted but somehow everyone forgets that and repeats his original INCORRECT version), entirely unproven, and ridiculously over-punished. |

Pat’s fan here. And I agree with pps -
- they win a lot and it’s boring. We don’t have the Cinderella story. - they were found to have videotaped. Not that other teams don’t too, but it was just another reason to not like them - the fans - many of which that are shown on tv and are actually the college kids from out of town - can be jerks. But at least they don’t punch police horses in the head. - Tom did leave his gf, and possibly cheated on her. It this is ridiculous consider the things other athletes do. I just think it’s just because they win so much. I remember the absolute thrill of them going to the Super Bowl in 86. Now it’s lost it’s shine. |

Eh, that was forever ago. It also is widely understood that the relationship was going downhill when the gf intentionally got pregnant. Since then, by all accounts, he's been an upstanding family man. He spends time with his first son and treats him well. He seems to be a good father, see incident with his daughter this week as an example. By NFL standards he's waaaaay above average. (I.e., the league of gf beaters and dog fighters) |

That is pathetic, PP. Brady is, by all accounts, a loving and involved father. His oldest son spends loads of time with him and you can read interviews with his ex about co-parenting. I really can't believe anyone would attack Brady when you have all the other behaviors in the NFL. Not exactly paragons of virtue. |
