Yes, people are staying home. So the PP pointing out that two days into their Paris trip things are going well has no basis for whether or not s/he is already infected or will be.

"He was left 'coughing excessively' on a ward for six hours leaving family fearing he could have passed on the infection to others.

The man died at Milton Keynes Hospital after he was admitted on March 3 with suspected pneumonia having recently returned from a Caribbean cruise where he had visited several countries. His cause of death is believed to be asphyxiation after he took off his oxygen mask. "

Your point is correct and clear. But for most people, it’s blame everyone else in government and then go do what you want to do.

The only thing I HAVE to do is pick up my kid for spring college break. I will drive, go to quiet, out of the way rest stops, and hope like heck they kill the rest of the semester.

My guess is my husband in tech ends up working from home. At that point, I go stay with my sister near my kid until they kill the semester so I can get there fast. I’m betting the college closes early.

“Kill the semester?” So all the work the students have put in since January should be for naught?

Some schools going to online for remainder of semester.

What about labs or other classes that involve more "hands on" instruction? I will be pissed if my kid's school "kills" the semester.

It doesn't say anything else. Like which cruise line. He was 88 though.

Grandma has pulled out of the trip. Won't be able to fly and go to the bday for her 3 year old grandson - she's very sad. C'est la vie.

Airlines DGAF - they aren't waiving change fees for flights already booked, but will do so for flights being booked now (ie and flown in the future). Basically no one is traveling, their cash flow is drying up, and need to incentivize sales. Customers with existing bookings are getting a raw deal.

DH works at a hospital and a memo was just sent out for employees not to attend conferences for the next 60 days.

Who eats all these costs??? I guess the attendees.
