My daughter did get a flu test this week and had flu B. We all got better but now feel sick again. Just fevers, lethargy and runny noses. It’s never ending!

I’m sure we don’t have corona, but can you get flu and corona at the same time?

Yes you can have them at the same time, strep too and of course pneumonia.

The point I was making is that people who can telework, should telework. Not that everyone is mandated to telework. What I’m saying is that any little bit helps

More than 50 people linked to skilled nursing facility in Washington to be tested for coronavirus

From CNN's Michael Nedelman and Jamie Gumbrecht

More than 50 residents and staff from the Life Care Center in Kirkland, Washington, will be tested for the novel coronavirus because they’re experiencing symptoms, said Dr. Jeffrey Duchin, health officer for Seattle and King County, Washington.

Duchin said there are "approximately 108 residents at the facility and about 180 staff. And among the residents, we've had reports that approximately 27 have some sort of symptoms and among the staff, approximately 25. We're going to be working in collaboration with a CDC team, which will be arriving tonight, to assess each and every one of these people and provide the appropriate guidance around isolating. And all of these people will be tested, and we'll take every step to minimize any potential for exposure of others. But at this point the investigation is just getting started."

Health care worker in 40s with no history of travel. Another a woman in her 70s who is a nursing home resident.

This is the nursing home.

This is very bad news, especially since all the patients are seniors.

One is reminded of the long-term psychiatric facility in Daegu where 98% of the residents became infected. From the description, it appeared most were older, likely Alzheimer and dementia patients.

The "she had not history of travel" comments are interesting. I'm going to guess that someone very close to her did.

A lot of the staff at those type of places are generation immigrants. So maybe someone travel home or someone came to visit.

After lying for the first three weeks

They did the best they could with a novel virus. Once they realized what they were dealing with they responded with vigor. I applaud them.

The numbers out of Wuhan are wrong. Why congratulate them?

The WHO has applauded them. I, too, am clapping.

I wonder if we'll ever know how many people have died in Wuhan. Or even a real estimate.

For every 100 people reading this, 15 will be in the hospital and 2 will be dead in six months.

Interesting. What other talents do you have besides pulling random stats out of your ass?

You are assuming a 100 percent infection rate.

Consider that the Diamond Princess, a very closed and relatively cramped environment, had a less than 20% infection rate. It will be far less than that in more spacious and open environments.

No. Why would they be truthful?

The numbers of deaths are there on wiki or WHO website.

10 percent of the cases in the Lombardy region of Italy are medical personnel, underlining how important it is for health care workers to have excellent personal protective equipment.

Let's hope we can keep our rates lower. We are relying on these people at the frontlines!
