Lara doesn't look fit and toned. Look closely. That is a woman with severely disordered eating, if not suffering from a eating disorder. No one healthy should have forearms that skinny, nor such visible collar bones and shoulder joints.

It's not the arms. Many naturally skinny women have those kind of arms. However, it's always a dead giveaway when she has a big head-small body, which Lara does.

I'm the PP that said I wouldn't look twice at the dress...I agree it would be much better knee length, or as a PP suggested as a jumpsuit (and I'm not normally a huge jumpsuit fan, but I think it would make this a little edgier). Or maybe if the dress was reversed -- platinum with black sequins on top, that would really pop.

As is, I just think it's a little MOB, as they used to call it in the fashion industry (not sure anyone still uses that term). Looks very much like something that the wife of a BigLaw partner would wear to a fundraiser gala for the opera or ballet. That dress that looks fancy but age appropriate in a not very memorable way. I feel like an older woman like Sophia Loren would really rock this dress, but for Melania, it's just sort of under-whelming. But fine.

I am mourning the missed opportunity of the Ivanka red dress, which was almost fabulous.
