It's also the same silhouette even if the Delpozo is a far more sophisticated execution. And there's really not much distinction to be made they both are designed grab the with a flashy color and cut. |
She does not have good taste. |

Absolutely. I wish OP and some of the other could ppst pictures of themselves all dolled up so we can marvel at their fashionista sense. Melania almost always looks unbelievably classy. Yes, she has some misfires, but not very often. He innauguration ensemble was impeccable. Of all the things to slam Trump about, Melania and Ivanka's fashion choices are not even on the radar. It makes you all look petty, stupid and half blind with no fashion sense when you do this. What a fool you are OP to start this thread. |
I'm mostly with you on Melania, but Ivanka has had some serious misfires. There have been multiple threads about them. The flowered housedress alongside Merkel and LaGarde and the pink bell-sleeved thing at the G20 leap immediately to mind. |
Aw, a knight in shining armor. Finally those poor Trumps have someone to stand up for their fancy outfits! Finally!! |
And for the umpteenth time this is the B&F thread, so exactly the place for these petty discussions and not the other shortcomings. But should OP post saying, I'm speaking at the UN and thinking of wearing statement sleeves wider than my head in a gum ball shade with matching stilettos, I'm sure she'll be treated kindly. ![]() |
I believe for the most part Melania is a sympathetic character, and her wardrobe choices are mostly designed not to set off people who hate her husband, resent her wealth, etc. Even her inaugural gown was understated, and that's the one time when it's generally OK to go over the top, no matter what you look like. (Ivanka sure did.)
The exception is some $40K Italian coat I keep seeing in pop-up news stories. I'm anti-Trump but can't seem to become anti-Melania. |
I would love to see these posters trot themselves out. |
I don't care for that particular dress. It looks like a heavy, stiff coat with poofy sleeves. It would add 20 pounds to anyone wearing it - which I know that most of us do not need.
But Melania usually dresses well, with far more hits than misses and even the misses don't look that bad on her. I also think that her anti-bullying platform is a good and honorable cause. |

Melania is a pretty woman but that dress made her look like a ridiculous, giant, pink balloon. And a speech on bullying from her is the height of hypocrisy. She needs to read that speech to Donald and then confiscate the man-child's phone before he gets us all annihilated. |
To the people that claim that our shallow critiques of the First Lady are "disrespectful" and that she is "just doing her job" I present to you her own take on what being First Lady means, from her lawsuit with the Daily Mail:
She is not just a first lady, she is a "brand" and hence, it seems completely reasonable to criticize her crappy taste and bad fashion choices, just like we would criticize the Kardashians or whoever else sells their image. The women commenting on this thread are not posting their own pictures, but they are also not trying to make money off of their image. Some of you dopes look at Melania and see a victim, or someone making the best of a bad situation, or the First Lady of the United States. When Melania looks at regular women, all she sees is potential $$$. |
