Political Discussion
It wasn't about YOUR child, it was about everyone's children AND the teachers. |
Well, you are certainly leaning hard into the ableism and classism. I’ll give you that. |
Remember that Republicans want to eliminate public schools and balkanize the school system into privately-run charters, which would have a whole incoherent and inconsistent patchwork of policies where it comes to what they would do in a pandemic. Also never mind that many privately-run charters are actually worse than the private schools. Also, Republicans don't support IDEA and funding services and support that special needs kids need. Republicans would also water down science-based curricula and instead promote things like abstinence-only sex ed (a proven fail), and would push history education full of distortion and revisionism that whitewashes slavery, rather than teaching true history. Republicans truly despise children and reality. |
Absolutely. Dyslexic and special needs kids need more focused and specialized education, which they wouldn't have gotten whether the pandemic happened or didn't happen. If anything school districts could lean into remote learning as a better way to specialize to meet those needs as they can't as easily be met in a generalized classroom setting. |
There is research and evidence showing that dyslexic students can perform much better through the use of assistive technologies and mobile apps. https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.1007/978-3-030-63885-6_55 https://www.researchgate.net/publication/349465421_Mobile_Applications_for_Students_with_Dyslexia_A_Systematic_Literature_Review |
Yet we "despise mothers and dyslexic kids" for promoting and supporting technologies that can help
The PP's constant litany of outrage really seems contrived and forced and is getting quite old. |
We knew from the early days of the pandemic that teachers were not at increased risk. It’s one of the reasons shutdowns in Europe were so limited. Kids were less likely to transmit and less likely to get serious illness. Covid is not the flu. |
PP is discussing the biological reality that sex leads to procreation and that this isn’t imposed by your political opposition. Your response has nothing to do with what she argued and was personally insulting - something people who have nothing to contribute to a debate respond with. |
Unless you are a Republican, this is irrelevant. This post is about the viewpoints of GOP women of a certain age, not why you feel more impacted by abortion. If you feel that way, vote Dem as you seem to do. |
Gender and sex are different things, and laws protecting women are based on their sex. |
| We don’t hate America. We don’t vandalize statues with “death to Amerikkka”. See WTOP. |
Just so we're on the same page, what determines someone's sex...their birth certificate? |
Even with the precautions that were put in place (and endlessly moaned about), at one point we were losing 5000/day in this country alone. It's amazing how people forget that fact just four short years later. |
I’m a different poster. Forgot to add DP. Just pointing out a fact regarding special education. My family pays 35k a year on private school. Public schools are not equipped to deal with dyslexic children. |

Immigration, gangs, crime are all tied and moving deeper into our country. This needs to be addressed. Why did it take so long for Biden to do anything (I voted for him btw)? And yes, I know the GOP obstructed but Dems used that as an excuse to do nothing. There’s more than one lever that could be pulled.
