Van Lifer couple camping in Utah national park - two weeks later fiancee arrives in FL alone

Reminds me of the thread on the couple who died with their baby. These are tragedies people. For the victims and their families.

Don't sit smugly behind your keyboard with maybe 10% of the relevant information, and declare what they are like or what they should have done. It is unseemly to the pale.

Trust me - I'm judging the boyfriend/husband killer much much harder.

Exactly. Hers made me laugh with the “she could have walked out the forest into a mental institution.” Cognitive dissonance is real folks.

A very isolated institution where none of the staff have realized that there is a massive search going on for her and thought to mention to the police that they have a patient matching the description. Or I guess she has enlisted them in her conspiracy of silence. Oh, and they also apparently offer free services.

I’m sure she’ll just claim it’s all somehow because of HIPPA though.

Oh, it's always HIPPA dammit!

If you think discussing crime is new, you are wrong.

Local papers used to report crime in detail. Even small domestic disputes, petty theft, etc was reported in the paper. It was very local and everyone knew everyone else’s business. Then women would get together at sewing club, bridge club, etc and discuss and gossip. Only the medium and location has changed. Your shame won’t work here.

The wouldn’t have to be isolated. If an adult is committed to an institution, they can not give out any information legally.

Wow, did you really double down?! I am kinda impressed. Still scratching my noggin about how she would have walked there, but lemme think about it for awhile.

While Gabbie is a 22 year old adult, we can agree she is mentally ill and fairly immature.

She really should not have been spending her time on social media - let alone making it such a focus.

I'm the one who thought both of them should have been doing something productive with their lives. That said I have no problem with her social media accounts. They're nice and the content is actually well produced and thought out.

But she had no focus other than 'I want to be a social media star'. That's not how it works. You need a pull - something that draws an audience. You either need to be hot enough to start your own OnlyFans (and she wasn't) or you need something to divert sexual interests to hobbys - like being a mom of 10 kids pulling her hair out or the owner of the GrumpyCat.

Just because you're on social media, does not mean you're aiming to be a star. This is all patently false. Many bloggers and social media "influencers" earn money off affiliate links, advertising, and selling products (like a course on how to plan for your van life). You have to build a following first, but many people you have never heard of, who are neither hot, nor selling their body, are making money online. It may not be much for some, but it's also not an expensive lifestyle.

I posted what you are replying to, and I’m not the same poster. I’m just clarifying IF she is committed, they can’t say.
There is more than one person here you know.

Ok she’s obviously dead. How does he think he’s gonna get away with it?

Are you implying that many missing women are, in fact, sitting in mental institutions that they voluntarily committed themselves to that we'll never know about due to HIPAA?

Nope. Someone posted "an isolated institution where none of the staff knew…"
I just clarified that statement is wrong. Like I said, it’s not probable, but it is possible for someone to be locked up and know one knows because of privacy laws. If she checked into a hospital, and is over 18, no one at the hospital is allowed to say.

If your 18 year old child checked into a mental hospital for 30 days and did not tell you, how would you know?

Anyone report seeing them together after they were to separate for the one night?

Girl they would definitely drop a dine and at least let law enforcement know she’s safe. Come on.

No body, no weapon, no evidence.

Clearly he did it, I think everyone, including the police believe this. But you need physical evidence to charge someone with murder and they have none. Zip. So….unless her body turns up, or some witnesses saw something, some blood is found in van on his clothes, etc., they cannot hold him, make him talk, or do anything at all. As far as I have read, they don’t even have anything to obtain search warrants
