MOCO BOE update: Beidleman Report summary

One thing has become clear. MCPS is a corrupt, rotten institution, and nobody in power seems interested in fixing it.

Another thing that is crystal clear is that it operates on cronyism and has for a lonnng time!

Why do want this man fired so badly. What will it do for your life? If he is wrongfully terminated he can sue MCPS. Why do you people want to see this man fired while you keep your jobs and feed your children?

Simple: Actions have consequences, or at least they do in the real world!

+1 We're always hearing about how MCPS administrators deserve their high salaries because the district needs to compete with the private sector. Except this kind of nonsense, ineptitude, and flat-out dishonesty is not considered acceptable outside MCPS.

McKnight and Beidelman both had the choice to remain classroom teachers, and their level of responsibility would begin and end at the students in their classroom. But they wanted more money, and more power. Okay, fine, but with that money and power comes responsibility. You can't take the salary and the power and then cry "But I had only been Superintendent for a year when I promoted him!"

We pay these folks VERY well for civil servants, but the trade-off is that the buck stops with them. If you personally promote a serial sexual predator to a higher office, you've messed up big time and should lose your job.

Just because you’re in a leadership position doesn’t mean you should be fighting to keep your job every week. This is why good people don’t want to become leaders because teachers and the community tear them apart.

But it does mean you should be aware of what's going on in your organization, holding your staff to a high standard of behavior, and communicating consistently and effectively, all in exchange for your very substantial salary.

Agreed! OTOH, promoting a serial harasser/abuser, valuing equity above excellence, and overseeing a sharp drop in student performance should mean fighting for your job.

You think we are having this conversation “just because” Beidleman was in a “leadership position”? No other factors enter into it, in your mind, at all? The influence he and his retention to this point have on actual rank and file teachers who have direct contiwith our kids all day—that’s not a factor?

What kind of work do you do that these are your expectations?

If you’re a good leader you don’t have to fight for your job every week. If you turn in the past two months that the superintendent has, you won’t be in charge very long.

We didn't hear this much noise when the good ole boys played poker together monthly. I am sure many back door deals were negotiated at those "members only" nights.

Why so much noise now? Hummmmmm.

So obviously you think sexual harassment is okay and that organizations should be allowed to just do whatever they want and not expect ethical behavior. You're gross.

No you’re gross for spending your time focusing on a man losing his job instead of taking care of your own family. Maybe your family wouldn’t have so many problems if you took this amount of effort and put it into your family.

Sorry to break it to you..but no problems here. Lots of assumptions on your part. You need help.

All the more reason to clean house now. A lot of things used to be corrupt and poorly run and then they grew up.

I would literally ignore the troll.

I doubt its even an MCPS person/employee. It's probably someone just trying to have fun trolling the thread. No one is taking them seriously, lets just have the real conversation.

What’s the point of this conversation? You think the conversation will sway the outcome? This board is full of disgruntled teachers.
