Look, I wish Dr. McKnight the best and hope she heals quickly. Also, I think she is the wrong person for this job. She's far too enmeshed with the bad actors to be a credible "new broom" in a system that badly needs a clean sweeping.

She lost the trust of teachers a while back, and she's lost the trust of many parents and community members in her handling of this mess.

Agree. Not to mention that she’s been in way over her head and seems to lack leadership qualities that the job demands.

That's nonsense. Just because the previous super ignored the Biedleman stuff when it was happening doesn't matter. I get you don't have been on a crusade against McKnight since day one but please try and focus on facts here.

My first concern about McKnights leadership qualities arose after the Magruder shooting. While understandably it was a shocking and disturbing situation that would have tested any leader, her response was deeply concerning to me. At first she was MIA for hours and communication to MCPS families was delayed. Once she surfaced for the press conference she, had a deer in headlights look and spent her time to speak making excuses for the shooter. She did not express anger about what this kid did nor express concern about the victim. As a recognition of how badly she screwed up, the next day she had to do a repeat where she finally said things like “this is unacceptable”.

I looked at her then and thought that maybe she just needed time and experience.

Well, she has had a lot of time since then and her leadership has not improved and a lot of the issues evident in her response to the Magruder scandal are evident in the Biedelman scandal.

There are many qualities that seem to be lacking, but first and foremost what she seems to lack is a strong EQ, which is probably why she needs so much PR support, because her instincts that drive her decision making are just off and do not seem driven by values that most people recognize.

Whatever compels her to respond to a sexual harassment scandal by publicly announcing that she’s spoken with victims when she hasn’t is the same thing that compels her to stand up in front of cameras after a school shooting and make excuses for the shooter.

These are behaviors that are just incompatible with good leadership and it’s something about her personality that just doesn’t not appear fixable.

She wasn’t MIA during Magruder, she was in College Park at a hotel with the Board of Education.

This is a lie. MCPS said that she was stuck in traffic.

As if they tell the truth. It was documented that the BOE was in a College Park hotel interviewing candidates to be permanent superintendent. She was the candidate.

What's wrong with that?

When white women complain about a black man the world is in an uproar. That sums this up in a nutshell.

So we should all ignore and be cool with the fact that a man was promoted to principal despite having numerous sexual harassment complaints against him because he's black? And we should just ignore the incompetence and the shadiness of the system that allowed this to happen because dude is black? You and your tiny bird brain need to STFU.

Typical angry white women that can’t stand to be told the truth. It’s a historical fact that a black man is dug into the ground when a white man with the same offense is given a slap on the wrist.

If there are people with similar complaints against a white principal, or any principal, they should absolutely contact the Washington Post.

What the hell? Provide evidence of this happening in MCPS with a principal of a different race and what the outcome was. THIS WAS A COVERUP. Everyone's heads need to roll. GTFO with this race baiting. I DARE you say that to a victim's face you absolute coward of a human.

First of all, people like you hinder progress because you will do anything to deny the real problem and would rather focus on insulting people you know nothing about. Next, I'm not white, so go sit down and hide in your little corner so the real adults can have an actual conversation.

Regardless whether she was in College Park as you claim or working from her office and then stuck in traffic, as MCPS claims. She was still MIA from the crisis response.

But that also doesn’t explain why in her press conference she defended the shooter and why she decided to say that she spoke with Biedleman victims when she did not.

She seems to have an empathy deficit for victims and/or sympathize with victimizers.

You believe that? I don’t for a second. She is probably too afraid to show her face in CO or she struck a deal with the board to go out on medical leave rather than actually be fired

DP and I don't believe it because I actually heard from someone who works with (not for) MCPS administration that she's been MIA.

They said she was MIA before the announcement that she went on leave for sickness?

It makes sense they did the interview in Prince George’s county.
