Conservative DCUM'ers: how far back do you want LGBTQ rights rolled back?

For example, how many mothers would feel comfortable if they saw a 6'2" transwoman going into a bathroom or locker room where their 10 year old daughter is? How many mothers do you think would feel comfortable having their daughter and even themselves undress and change in a locker room that is no longer a female only space? I've heard stories of women who won't use gym locker rooms anymore because they don't feel comfortable and will wait until they are home to change. This is the reality of these policies. Women will feel driven out of their own spaces.

This is ridiculous. The vast majority of women will never come in contact with a trans person. It’s a small percentage of the population. How could a population that small drive out the overwhelming number of CIS women?! Your numbers and panic make zero sense. You need to find a real problem.

This is an argument in bad faith. The issue isnt primarily that truly trans women will assault women and girls. You know that. The issue is that there is now no definition of "woman" and any man can enter spaces that used to be for women. And men rape at much higher rates, and they seek women who are vulnerable due to location, intoxication, etc. Women want to be able to enter, for example, the gym locker room without fear.

I work out in a secluded gym with no staff. You just badge in. The locker rooms have badge entries, but we have tested and men's badges are coded to give them access to the women's locker room. I still work out there. But I'm scared every time I go into the locker room. This is the issue. I'm not scared of trans women. I'm scared of men.

Ok so let's elect a criminal tyrant because you are afraid to go your silly gym. Got it.

And how many will feel comfortable with trans men in their spaces? Because that is the other side of the coin. Are trans men who are forced to use women's bathrooms going to be attacked? Why won't any of you people who always bring up this argument ever address it? Too inconvenient I guess.

I'm a disabled person who feels uncomfortable in your able-bodied spaces because you able-bodied people seem unable to stop staring at people like me, and have avoided them for years, meaning I tend not to use public pools or gyms. Individual spaces would be a great solution, along the lines of "universal architecture" that would be a positive movement for all including the disabled.

Mocking women’s fear of sex-based violence is definitely a winning political strategy. 👍

Leave the trans kids alone.

Stop thinking about children's genitals.

Where do you get that stat from? I doubt it is true. I am a conservative middle aged white woman living in a far out suburb and have come in contact with multiple trans people.

Yeah, they're all making your coffees at Starbucks right? If you haven't noticed it, you're not paying attention.

Sorry, but no one knows what causes people to be trans. My guess it's a genetic predisposition along with hormones in the womb.

No, I don't go to Starbucks. I've met trans people in many ways, including students at my kid's high school.

I'm not sure what you are talking about in your second sentence. Obviously I've "noticed it."

Your “guess?” Laughable. It’s 100% social contagion

No. It's 0.1% naturally occurring. It's 99.9% a social contagion.

The age of onset has been consistent for a long time, so that seems unlikely.

The Bostock decision limited the lawful opportunities to discriminate against trans people. If you don’t like the direction trans rights have already moved, then you’ll need to take that up with Neil Gorsuch.

It's scary. One day you too may catch it.
