Why do they need to vote on the original agreement? Its toast.

The original agreement was 1500+ pages of wish list goodies and a pay raise.
We need to stop the whole debt ceiling nonsense and at least make an attempt to live within our means.
They want to go home for the holidays, they will come up with something.

So you want to lift the debt ceiling when the whole campaign was predicated on cutting spending. If spending cuts are coming day 1, then there is no reason to eliminate the debt ceiling. This basically tells me the GOP is not serious about cutting spending at all.

+1 As always the GOP only pretends to want to cut spending when there’s a Democrat in the White House. Now unlimited spending is totally OK!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahah!

No.

You see, there are 219 Republicans and only 211 Democrats in the current House. If the Republicans really wanted to pass something, they can, with NO Democratic support. So, why is it that the Republicans can't even get members of their own party on board with a bill that they did not negotiate with the Democrats? And why should the Democrats support a bill in which that they have zero input?

I don't get why this is so hard for people to understand??? Do you truly not understand basic math and how the Dems are not needed to pass this CR? It's mind blowing to me. I always thought DCUMers were some of the brightest. Hmmmm

These are the same people that voted for Trump and Biden. Bright? I think not.

And who did you vote for oh brilliant one?

Not the 80 year old people. I somehow found enough common sense to realize an 80 year old POTUS would be a very bad idea. How about you?

So you threw away your vote and pretended like you were the smart one?

Pretty sure the last 8 years have clearly taught us that the Trump/Biden voters aren't the "smart ones". I forgive and still love my fellow Americans but we've simply got to stop being so careless when it comes to politics.

I mean, look at what a good job he is doing influencing his own caucus.

...and then create his own brand of chaos on day two. Bigly.

And bring the US economy to a stand still? Brilliant idea.

Well you really did a great job in voting for some rando that never had a chance to win, so now we're stuck with Trump. Great choice! But at least you can play holier than thou on a mommy message board. So you got that going for you.

Next week is a holiday week, as is the week after that. Then, on January 3rd, we get the new guys, while the government is shut down. Then there's the certification on the 6th and the inauguration on the 20th.

Do these guys have a calendar? Do they care about any of this?

Except there is a decent chance the TSA and FAA would 'sick out" in protest during the holiday.

It’s simpler than that. Republicans have a majority in the House; they don’t even have to reach out. Then could get a bill House Republicans agreed on and then blamed the Senate and POTUS. But no, they are too chaotic for that’s

Elections have consequences. The next time your party suggests that nominating an elderly person is a great idea, think back to this Trump/Biden mess and say "no thank you".

Equating Trump and Biden is a fools errand.

The only chaos is the GOP. And that chaos started with Trump.

The sitting vice-president is a rando?

So what's the difference between the bill they're planning to put up now and the one that they tabled after Musk's tweet?

He’s not President yet.

He loves chaos on Biden’s watch.

Two elderly 21st century presidents that were historically unpopular and terrible leaders. I'd day they have a lot in common. Only difference is Trump has zero integrity while Biden has a little. Not equal but they are in a class of awful presidents by themselves.
