DP - I have long thought that the pay of Reps and Senators should vary according to the state and/or district they’re from and their pay should be tied to what lawmakers in their state make. So, a Rep from rural Kansas should make less than a Rep from NYC. They should each get the same basic pay but then have a locality pay based on their cost of living. Similar to how fed employees are paid. |
Exactly. 1500 pages to 120 pages. |
lol everyone likes Pork, Republican or not. |
It will be worse this time around. Enjoy the holidays and then prepare yourselves. Dumpy used this as a get out if jail free card and Musky smell used this for power and more money for himself. The ignorant MAGA who voted for this will all see soon....although when you operate at low intelligence levels it's hard to make sense of reality so I'm sure they will blame everyone else. Sad and embarrassing country we have become. |
Yet the spending is still virtually the same. The farmers are still getting their pork. |
You think the reduction in pages reduces the amount of money authorized? Oh, honey. |
All the health care reforms were trashed - like the PBM controls and the extension of telehealth benefits for Medicare. https://www.healthcaredive.com/news/pbm-reform-government-funding-bill-telehealth/735837/ But Elon and Tesla can still do unrestricted business in China, so that's good, right? https://www.newsweek.com/elon-musk-china-continuing-resolution-budget-deal-proposal-2004103 |
Ra are making America great. /S |
Why isn't this publicized more widely |
Republicans protected greedy United Health vultures. |
I wish I could fast forward three months.
The whining about how MAGA is losing before even being in office is epic. I understand lefties are trying to hold ground, but good things come to those who wait. |
78 year old Trump will deliver as much good as our last unfit 78 year old mistake did. Zero. |
You are right, Good things will come for his billionaires friends. |
I kind of disagree - technically their "duty station" is at the Capitol in DC and that's where their main work is supposed to get done, so they should all be paid the same. I would suggest COLAs indexed to some figure like inflation rate -1 or -2% would be good, to also give them an incentive to pursue policies that keeps inflation low (and maybe a similar measure to disincentivize excessive deflation as well). I would however suggest docking their pay if they fail to pass a timely budget and docking it further if they require a CR and stop paying them if the government shuts down. |
Unfortunately but it’s time to shine the light! |
