Means I'll have less money to send to the aid of those hurt by natural disasters that are plaguing the US in this time of climate change. But oh well. I'm sure Trump will step up to make up for that loss, as long as the residents in states affected promise to vote for him. If they don't, they shouldn't hold their breath.

lol

so sorry you have to choose to which "charity" you'll contribute

Sounds like you don’t care about Americans hurting from natural disasters.

You are hilarious, PP. A natural born virtue signaler! Well done.

It's funny that Trumpkins are delighted at the thought of "punishing" sanctuary cities by sending illegal immigrants to us ...

You do realize that sanctuary cities are by and large cities where immigrants - both legal and illegal - ALREADY live. They are already here. And many of our communities are rallying to make it possible for them to live their fullest lives and become contributors to our regions. It's not a punishment - it's the American way.

It's great to see people supporting their president! Go greet the illegals in the liberal cities.

Drive down there and bring them back. Even better, charter a bus and bring as many as can fit. Imagine the social media love you could get out of that.

It’s all about the likes, right, liberals?

Oh yes, it's all about the likes for us libs. That's all we do - tweet constantly and post crazy things and then look for a reaction and then get mad at the MSM when ignored or called out and throw a tantrum about fake news and then tweet some more. Oh, wait ....

They don’t live in gated communities, moron.

DP. Do you understand what a figure of speech is? PP merely meant that Pelosi et al live in exclusive enclaves. And you’d better believe they’ll call the police if those enclaves become overrun with illegal immigrants.

I am very anti-illegal immigration, and live in a stupidly liberal area of MoCo. Neighbors with signs up everywhere about how ‘We Welcome All Immigrants’ etc, etc.

Maybe Trump could choose each of these houses to accept the illegal immigrants? They are advertising a welcome. Makes perfect sense to me.

Couldn’t agree more.

Welcoming immigrants and illegal immigrants are two different things. Those signs - and I know what you’re referring to - are calling out the xenophobia that has characterized and been stoked by this administration from day one. They popped up shortly after Trump was elected and enacted the “Muslim ban”. Funny how you twist a sign and message intended to impart community into “it’s now liberals responsibility to clothe and shelter illegal immigrants.”

But while we’re on the topic of liberal charity, what about our collective blue state contributions to keep red states on the dole? I’ll use my tax dollars to house, clothe, and educate a family from Central America that desperately wants a life in the US and is willing to put everything on the line to have it in exchange for not having to support freeloading red staters who vote against their best interest and fall for Trump’s demagoguery while he establishes a kleptocracy at the expense of all but the very wealthy. Deal?

LOL. Its funny that you think the Central American families wont be freeloading

I don't think of people feeling desperate poverty and violence by walking thousands of miles for a chance at a better life - or a chance to just live - as freeloaders. These are humanitarian refugees, and many of these people have more of an appreciation for hard work and the American dream and what this country stands for than the average Trump voter or GOP politician.

Speaking of freeloaders .... all those tax cuts for billionaires.

Exactly. How much will those free-loading billionaires cost us? Immigrants are a nice distraction for them.

an interview with Libby - https://www.npr.org/2019/04/13/712997016/oakland-mayor-libby-schaaf-on-trump-and-sanctuary-cities

SIMON: But let me hone this down to the point that's at issue now. If sometime, let's say, in the middle of next week, a number of buses arrive in Oakland with 5,000 migrants, do you say, welcome to Oakland?

SCHAAF: I always say, welcome to Oakland. But this is much less about immigration or sanctuary. This is about an outrageous abuse of power. The idea that you could use human beings, families as instruments of political payback to use public resources to exact retribution on your political enemies. This is not America. It is not democratic. And this is what should outrage all Americans, regardless of their stance on immigration or sanctuary cities.

I wonder what her constituents think.

Some of them probably agree with her but I bet most are incredibly angry that she would say it’s ok to bring them to their city. I would love to see just how “welcoming” these cities would be if their bluff was actually called.

They are asking for donations.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/new-mexico-city-asks-donations-after-more-migrants-dropped-n994211

The statement said needed items included utensils, napkins, paper plates, sanitary napkins, shampoo, clothing, towels, blankets, canned food, bottled water, foam padding for bedding and stuffed toys.

interesting . . .

The Border Patrol announced Thursday it would release migrants in southern New Mexico and in El Paso, Texas, pending their future court hearings Immigration and Customs "capacity issues."

I expect to see lots of people in NM putting their homes on the market.

This was mentioned upthread days ago by those on both sides of the spectrum. Keep up.

Happy to donate to support those communities.

Write those checks and start sending supplies! Be sure to document everything on social media, too.

I have a friend who just moved there, too. I'll have to check in with her to get some insider info.

What is the difference between this topic and literally every other day?

The issue is that you dont want your schools and neighborhoods going to the crapper. Its okay to admit.

Exactly. And let’s not forget who started this thread - a liberal who was outraged (wow, is that redundant) that Trump would have the audacity to suggest bringing immigrants to sanctuary cities. They don’t want them any more than the next person, but using Trump as their constant scapegoat allows them to pretend otherwise.

You just don't get it. Is it your attempt to willfully twist the message or are you just stupid.

Bullshit. Send the immigrants.
