Should coaches be getting vaccinated ahead of essential employees?

In your option .. Is a pe teacher more important? a music teacher? a librarian? They all teach... soccer teaches teamwork, problem solving , competitiveness. all things there are more important or just as important as the Louisiana purchase or appreciation for fine art or classical music.

IMO...music teacher, then librarian, then soccer, then PE.

Well, since the coach's employer is requiring him to go to work in person and the teacher's currently is not, if in ACPS, regardless of whether he/she gets vaccinated, I still say the coach deserves it.

Actually, ASA invented this whole school+ thing in order to profit from the fact that the kids were not in person. So the employer in this case actually created a higher risk activity and now demands vaccines for this created situation. If the club was so concerned about the risk, why did they create a higher risk activity in the first place. This whole thing stinks with entitlement and incompetence.

Stop babbling like an idiot. What other fantasies are running around inside that 5 cent brain of yours? Anybody else exerting privilege by trying to support mental and physical health of children? Are you one of the idiots who preaches to follow the science, and when the science shows that elementary and middle schools should be open, tells us not to follow the science? Shut the hell up until you have something valuable to contribute beyond a string of perjorative terms whose actual meaning is well beyond your ability to use appropriately.

ASA must be on the boards tonight. All about the kids - no (only the rich kids). This is all about money and privilege at the expense of the community.

You don’t seem to think the virus is a threat anyway so why do you care if they get vaccinated or not?

Well as a healthy 50-year old, my local DMV county predicts it will be summer at the very earliest for that to happen for me...

"A rural Georgia medical center has been suspended from the state's Covid-19 vaccination program for six months after the facility administered vaccines to staff of the local school district.

The Georgia Department of Public Health was notified Tuesday that the Medical Center of Elberton had been vaccinating Elbert County School District staff members who were outside of the Phase 1A+ category of people eligible for the vaccine. After an investigation, the DPH confirmed the information and suspended the medical center, a release from the department said."

In many parts of the country, skipping the line is a no go.

Not in Alexandria. We vaccinate soccer coaches ahead of higher risk individuals. What’s a couple more needless deaths? The community is the last concern of ASA.

Good for them for giving consequences for this. Georgetown University also reported that they are disciplining some medical students that cut the line.

They are in a high risk because they deal with kids just like teachers do.

The other problem with your logic is you feel that the coaches are actually getting the shots at the expense of other people. Group 1a, medical staff have been vaccinated and now the second group is being worked on.

Relax.
