Should coaches be getting vaccinated ahead of essential employees?

Wtf?!?!!! Coaches of optional kids’ sport, not even teachers!!

Not to mention I’m 50, a parent of 2 and can’t get vaccinated until the summer most likely.

Take my spot. I am in the same position. Honestly people. All the whining. It’s a scarce resource that we are all really lucky to have. Be patient and not so resentful. Hope you never end up in my lifeboat.

If they weren’t healthcare, teachers or over 65 (group 1b), they threw grandma overboard and stepped on grandpas head to climb into the life boat.

That’s cheating and unethical.

Oh bull. You don’t know how this works. Do your homework instead of spreading lies. If people spent half as much time educating themselves and doing what they need to do to get the jab, appointments would not be cancelled. You get a ticket, then you go get it when appointed to do so. That’s they way this works. Obviously you need to do more research. Stop it with this vile crap.

Depends on where you live.

In Fairfax and Arlington currently you cannot get a vaccine unless you are in the priority groups. AND, they started cancelling priority group 1b (65 and over) because they ran out of vaccines. So, yes, it’s surprising to see people in the very, very lowest risk category taking priority over the highest risk category.

INOVA cancelled all upcoming scheduled vaccinations for first doses because they ran out of vaccines. These high risk 1b may now not get a first dose until April.

This is why it’s sick to see gloating about getting vaccinated ...

If this is about the Potomac tweet, she is a teacher...

Essential workers and prisoners are also in 1b. So nobody is jumping anybody in line. Read the guidelines. If there is a problem with the guidelines, complain to the state. But don’t complain that some people are getting vaccinated while others apparently don’t want to get jabs. Other states have populations standing by until everybody over 65 decides to sign up, which is flat out crazy in every respect when vaccines go bad.

Yes, this happened to my wife, who has a serious health condition and is under 65 and part of inova 360. Guess what? You can get the vaccine elsewhere!! Please do your homework folks. INOVA is not the only place to go.

Yes. These people were not in 1b, not even close. Young, healthy, no risk factors, not essential workers/teachers/healthcare. Not any criteria that warrants a vaccine priority now. People that are in the warranted categories have been told there are none available, even those that already had scheduled appointments.

Why are you so pissed off from something that’s not even true? Not all coaches are 20-30 year old. Many are above 60 YO. (I am 52 years old.)

If you lived in Florida, you would be extremely pissed off. 39,000 people that have been vaccinated are from out of state including Canadians.

I’m talking about the coaches on the social media club site. No. They are not above 35.

Ok. You are not correct. They may fall within the states definition of essential workers (even if it is not your definition). If their turn came, they need to go get it. And I am damned glad they did. Prisoners are getting vaccinated and you are complaining about this?

This is referring to Alexandria? They are Protecting kids? You want them to be vaccinated to protect your kids and family....

My son's coach also works for the childcare provided through Alexandria Soccer Association. If teachers are getting vaccinated and continuing to teach at home (as is currently the case), I don't see why he shouldn't be vaccinated when he deals with kids indoors all day long.

How do you know that they had no risk factors? I have two medical conditions that the CDC considers makes me high risk, but my random coworkers and casual acquantainces would never know that.
