BTS new song broke all youtube records

I love BTS and I although like some of the girl groups including BP, I have a harder time being a big fan of girl groups since the outfits are typically so short, which limit their dancing (but better than US artist outfits of course). I like IU and TXT.

BTS is less formulaic and I love their personalities on shows like Run, In the Soop, and Bon Voyage. Even though they are multimillionaires, they are hysterical when they play games. And It’s fun to follow them on Twitter.

I have many gay friends and a strong gaydar and they dont strike me as gay in the slightest. I think it's funny that some western women need their money to be acting like a potbellied pig because apparently that's "masculine".

There also might be some anti-asian sentiment where asian men are perceived as more feminine which people should do their best to unpack.

Their dancing is fine but nothing amazing and definitely not masculine. They can be called feminine and not be called gay. I haven’t seen anyone on this thread call them gay. That’s your choice of words. I think it’s funny that the only men you (and another poster) think western women consider masculine are fat, out of shape and unkempt men. I also think it’s funny you are trying to think it’s anti Asian bc not every woman is attracted to this very clear effeminate group.

Asian men I think are attractive and masculine...Henry Golding and Daniel Dae Kim.

Western women think "masculine" and think of some bearded overweight ugly who bosses them around. Sad.

You think Daniel Dae Kim and Henry Golding are bearded, overweight, ugly and bossy? I think you should perhaps look into the definitions of those words.

When did I say that? That comment more addressed your first paragraph, which I suspect you know but avoided addressing since you threw in the "It's okay cause here's a list of asians I am attracted to" nonsense

Whoa, so I’m the poster who listed Henry and Daniel (not the poster who asked you the question about them; they should’ve put dp/np). I understood your original comment. So check your tone and delivery bc listing those 2 men as who I find attractive and masculine isn’t some racist nonsense just bc you didn’t like what that previous poster wrote.

And they are considered some of the most handsome men in the world, wearing top designers constantly. F toxic masculinity, BTS is BTS and their fans are all genders, ages and nationalities.

Right? Like, I’d hate for some of these people to find out about the k-pop stars who really do have an androgynous look. Like G-Dragon. Who is pretty popular amongst men actually!

There is also a RANGE of what men in Korea dress like and style themselves like. It's not mars for god sake. Plenty of men in Korea would not be caught dead styled like Kpop bands, but that's not that different than here!

I fail to see what's "feminine" about them other than the fact that they wear pink sometimes? Seriously IDGI...

I'm the pp, and as you know not the person who cited those men, although I do find them attractive and while I have no bad opinions about BTS they do not, light a fire in my loins or anything.

You made a blanket statement about what western women find attractive that was patently false and got called out on it. Now you are trying to hide behind racism as an excuse. I don't think bowl cuts are a racial quality, and there are plenty of effeminate american men that greatly appeal to some and not at all to others (see Brad Pitt, who I found kind of gross in Legends of the Fall but who would rip the clothes of Fight Club Brad). Timothy Chalamet is a major hearthrob right now and I think the same thing about him. And its not a criticism! It's personal taste and has nothing to do with being asian.

LOL they dont all have bowl cuts. And you cant like ANY man with a bowl cut? That's insane and sounds like some kind of strange predilection. Frankly anyone who has such a bizarre quirk shouldn't post at all then in any "is there person attractive" thread given they know their opinion is already compromised. Or at least put an asterisk explaining it to people

I just went down a fascinating internet rabbit hole thinking about this question hahaha!

To me it has nothing at all to do with their clothes. First, for me, is the hair. I would hate that haircut on any human. It looks like a combination of a Karen and a little boy and it immediately frames them as effeminate/childlike in the mind of my ovaries.

They simply don’t have many features that are traditionally seen as masculine traits like broad shoulders (it’s possible they have these IRL), facial and body hair, a remotely weathered appearance. This again, isn’t a criticism it’s personal preference. I have never understood what anyone found attractive about Justin Beiber and he has seemed childlike, effeminate and masculine at different points in his career.

What do you think effeminate means? I’m trying to figure out why you think they don’t come across that way.

Here is a pic of one of them where I think they look masculine

[gif]https://giphy.com/gifs/jimin-HFVDkLir37H7a[/gif]

I think I figured it out looking at the pictures though. They look like kids, I don’t think they are but they look so young. I think it’s the lack of body hair, the haircuts, and the smooth skin on their faces. And I think they’ll be crazy attractive to teens who are still into young boys. It’s the classic pretty boy thing. Is some people’s cup of tea and not others

See, this is really what it's about. Because they do have broad shoulders

What it really comes down to is western women (and I am one!) have been trained by the media to associate weathered, wrinkled, nasty skin with "masculinity" along with excessive body hair. And it's really crazy when you think about it. Of course smooth skin can be masculine along with not being covered in nasty hair with some bushy beard. Good for them for taking care of themselves. I love it!

I do not find that attractive. But I have never claimed to have anything more than a personal preference here. Millions of women and girls find these bowl cuts appealing. I’m sure they do not care about my opinion. Nor should they!
