BTS new song broke all youtube records

BTS takes their influence seriously. They know they are role models are seem to really care about the world. They donated $1million US dollars to the US BLM movement even though they are Korean. Their song Spring Day commemorates the victims of a major ferry accident in Korea where over 100 students drowned. They spoke at the UN about their speak yourself campaign, and are Mental Health Advocates and LGBTQ allies in a country where neither is well accepted.

Dynamite is their first all-English song.

Wow! I looked up their performance and it was amazing

What amazes me is their work ethic. It's inspiring and incredible. Can you imagine any American brand working 18 hour days? I'm sure Justin Bieber needs a smoke break and a lie down after about 2 hours, absolute tops. It makes me want to work harder

That’s not work ethic, that’s exploitative.

They also dont seem to be covering themselves in face tats and talking about drugs and sex, to prove how "cool" they are. How refreshing that is from the usual big artists we get in America like Bieber and One Direction and Post Malone and all of them. Especially cause it's mostly kids that are the fanbase for these people

I don’t get it. The songs aren’t catchy to me - and normally I love all things pop. I don’t hate it but just meh.

I am interested in hearing more English songs. It's hard for me to get into songs in Korean or any language I dont understand

Based on these comments I was seriously expecting to be blown away.

Now I am so into them and have been getting into their other stuff! It's so good!

For the other PP who seems to be a BTS expert- do they always have this beautiful dreamy aesthetic? It's similar to the one in Dynamite and so pretty

Not a huge BTS Stan but have followed them for awhile. No! They have been around for a good long time and they’ve done tons of different styles of music and videos. That aesthetic is sort of a recent-ish K-pop thing in general particularly with the boy groups.

There are some overarching themes and throwbacks but they take some deeper analysis to go through. My favorite videos include
I Need U
Spring Day
Save Me
Burning Up
Blood Sweat & Tears
Serendipity

And Halloween Dance Practices because they are funny

I am going to watch all of these things. Thank you to all PPs providing recs- I very much appreciate it! I only wish I knew Korean because I've been looking up the lyrics and they are so poetic and philosophical... but of course once they are singing in Korean I can barely keep track of what was said in which part. Anyway... it's still beautiful to listen to! Maybe I will learn some Korean by listening and paying attention.
