Lol ok. The lead singer of Vampire Weekend isn’t the be all end all of music industry criticism. I did read your articles. Then I posted my own, also by experts, including 2 from more recently than the 2016-2017 time period you posted from. I’m 34 and ran a radio station for 4 years during college. I know your argument isn’t as cut and dry as you’re making it out to be, and posted articles from legitimate sources to prove it. The fact that you won’t even click on any of them tells me you have zero desire for anything other than what supports your perception. |
So you're not actually very young, fairly old actually, and you're still listening to the music you listened to when you were in college. When, you know, it was the cool thing to listen to. Hey, I get it. There are still plenty of boomers who will only listen to the beach boys or steely dan and will insist that "hey, the hippie movement isn't over! It's still in the heyday!" and that's apparently the route you've chosen to go. No big. It's actually fairly standard, for someone to drift out of cultural relevancy as they age and cling on to whatever was popular when they were young. The fact that you dismissed all the myriad of articles by EXPERTS- aka, not some clown who ran a college radio station once- about the rise and fall of the indie rock system, and actually tried to point to point to an article about guitar sales going up as proof that indie rock has the same dominance it did ten years ago... well. I'm not trying to be mean but you're obviously not very smart or possibly even lucid. Anyway, enjoy listening to your old Death Cab for Cutie albums. No one's gonna fault you for it! Just know that... yes, you are MAJORLY out of touch, and, in fact... middle aged. And it shows. |
|
Again, no desire to engage with anything that challenges your perceptions.
You’re laughably incurious. I don’t even like Death Cab that much, outside of one album. 34 also isn’t middle aged by anyone’s definition. I won’t bother asking you your age because you’ll surely lie and tell me you’re 23. Because we know how many 23 year olds post on DCUM. |
|
You could seriously just click even on the Vice and NYTimes articles I posted and learn about why your perception isn’t totally accurate.
But you won’t. |
I'm laughably incurious, from the clown who ignored and dismissed out of hand SEVEN separate articles? The lack of self awareness is ACTUALLY laughable and hilarious. Girl, you've got some SERIOUS issues. And it certainly is middle aged. Average lifespan now is 72, so you're two years away from the middle of that and firmly in that region. And again, culturally, you may as well be 75. That's how culturally irrelevant and out of it you are. Just an old, angry, clueless dinosaur. |
Says the person who won’t even click on the articles I posted. And you’re now trying to argue that 34 is middle aged. Bye! I’m done. |
After you wouldn't click on mine? Huh! Funny how that works, isn't it?! It's almost like... reciprocity is a thing. And when you act like a douche, you get treated like one. Bye, old dinosaur! Go listen to some Ryan Adams! |

I get it: you can’t perceive any nuance. You can’t see that indie rock may have declined in some ways, but not in the clear cut, unequivocal way you claim.
But accepting that is clearly beyond your abilities. |
More talking to yourself. It's comical |

I am not sure how a discussion about a K-Pop band (which, as far as I can tell, didn't even address the most interesting development with that band) led to this. But I'm putting it out everyone's misery.
