Oh....yes they do. It’s a bragging thing. They want to play in the best league and so do their parents. Pay attention to the swag. All the kids have their league affiliation next to their Instagram pic. |
Fine, ECNL is a BMW and your ECNL team in NoVA is a BMW 318. A four cylinder piece of crap that has the badge but no bite. |
Still better than your Hyundai champ |
Nah GA = Tesla |
LMAO! You have obviously never owned a BMW. Talk about losing resale value and recalls!!
Your analogies suck as much as your local teams do! |
No, no it isn’t and that you don’t understand the difference says everything about your acumen. You probably believe your “M Powered” badge means you have a M car too. You don’t understand nuance and you purchase based on perceived status. The fact that you even bring up BMW and other car companies as some form of analogy to quality shows how little you truly understand about quality. Again, you bought a car, not a brand. A car that is built to last as long as the lease. |
Love the stories from people with BMW's, Range Rovers, etc. These vehicles look nice, but take them in for some simple service item and leave a few thousand dollars or more lighter in the wallet every time. The poster seems to have a total focus on the hype of the brand (ECNL badge) and appears to be disconnected from reality. |
It actually is a great analogy when you think about it. $7k for six months of soccer in ECNL vs ten months for GDA/GA. More breakdowns and recalls due to very compressed schedule with widespread HS play in ECNL vs sensible schedule for GDA/GA. You are right though, it does speak to mentality. This is the mentality of a marketer, trying to tie his brand to another well known brand. It’s all about the badge, which in the end means nothing in terms of quality. I think the young parents referenced should have some idea of where value is when they make their decisions vs buying a badge and brand blindly. What on Earth will all those young, excited Loudoun parents do when their club goes kaput this fall? |
They are all Yugos and you are dumb enough to think of them as luxury items. Players and teams, not clubs and leagues, are good or not. The amount you need to think in these terms is inversely proportional to the amount of talent your kid probably has and the amount of soccer acumen her parents passed on. |
| $7K for six months of value - yeah BMW sounds about right as an ECNL analogy. |
LMAO |

Here are the facts:
When DA formed, ECNL was the top league Many top ECNL clubs left for DA. Since the DA inaugural season, many of the top ECNL teams which left for DA returned to the DA When DA folded, all but a few ECNL teams which left for DA came back to ECNL. What is left in DA are a few former ECNL teams like FCV and Lonestar and Toohat If you want to argue that the GA is the best for your DD the. Say that but don’t pretend that the GA is on par with the ECNL when the ECNL has the top teams in the country. You can argue that the ECNL teams in NoVA are not strong but neither are Arlington and MU. All you have is FCV. |
| Arlington and MU are not as strong as FCV but they are on par or better than the ECNL clubs they compete with for talent. I think that is the point. GA > ECNL in the DMV. Now if you want ECNL for your DD because it makes you feel good that SoCal or Texas is ruled by ECNL - go for it. You are as likely to play them as the GA teams are. Are GA parents excited that Olympic Lyonnaise Reign, part of the top international women's soccer club in the world, is in the GA? They are not here rubbing it your face cause that’s silly. We probably won’t play them either. But to each their own. You do you. Maybe you should move to SoCal or Texas and see if your DD can make ECNL there. How do you think that will go? |
In general DMV soccer is tame and a step behind TX or SoCal. The parents and coaches there are a world apart in their competitiveness and expectations from the DMV. |

Mother’s Day in the middle of a pandemic and we are really doing this?
We are better than that |
