I have STD symptoms. Did my wife cheat on me during her maternity leave?

Yes, your wife definitely cheated on you during maternity leave. She felt good, she definitely didn't feel fat, wasn't losing her hair, had plenty of sleep, wasn't sore at all, and had lots and lots of free time.

STD symptoms? i had a guy blame me for giving him something years ago. Turned out to be heat rash. I was PISSED. (and even more pissed when i found out that he took off the condom during sex because he was "uncomfortable". Not cool, dude.)

Don't assume STD unless you have proof of an STD. And then don't assume your wife gave it to you, especially during her maternity leave. There is no way on earth I would have had sex during my leave. sex is not exactly the first thing on your mind when you've just pushed out a human or had one removed via c-section.

+1 Pregnancy was what brought on my initial outbreak of herpes. I only had a handful of partners before marriage and my husband was -and 15 years later- still is HSV negative thanks to Valtrex. It sucks but it happens and it's not the end of the world. And all the PPs are right. My doctor told me that the standard STD panel doesn't test for herpes unless you roll up with what looks like an active outbreak.

I had an STD test with my first pregnancy. I had a weird pap smear that threw up some red flags for HPV. Post pregnancy pap and every one since then came back normal.

I wasn't diagnosed with herpes until my second pregnancy, which was much more difficult. And I wasn't diagnosed until there were visible lesions on my genitals. This was also when I found out herpes isn't part of the blood tests they run when you get tested unless you ask for it specifically.

NP. The point was clearly not to assume it’s not an STD, but to go to the doctor to find out if it is an STD. Don’t start thinking the wife cheated before you’re sure you have an STD, and then consider where it may have come from (probably not the wife on maternity leave). It could be something else that causes similar symptoms or it could be an old, dormant issue like so many people here are suggesting.
