What is the White Party?

It’s shocking the silence on these boards about this event and the fact that seventh and eighth graders were showing up wasted. I think it’s because they are mostly suburban kids that don’t attend schools that people consider elite and that’s why they don’t care? Otherwise it’s hard to figure out why there’s a 100 page thread about one student allegedly drinking at a big three and yet no word about seventh and eighth graders showing up to a party falling down drunk.

Plenty of NCS/STA, Holton and Sidwell kids there last year.

Yes, some public and private school kids start partying in middle school. It's no way the majority of kids, but, yeah, it happens in both the public and private schools. And I've noticed that it correlates with the kids who are vaping. Just FYI.

Seems incredibly tone deaf.

Not everyone is as obsessed with skin color as you seem to be.

It is not a matter of obsession with skin color, it is understanding history and maybe some respect. It could easily be called the "Glen Echo Ball" or the "Suburban Catholic School Spring Frolic" or any one of another names, but sure, go ahead and be Squi.

And I guess the Beatles should change the album name.

Maybe so. But that must have been years ago. The youngest Obama girl is a senior and the elder one in college. At least last year, there were no kids from the middle school.

Sadly, the majority of the parents that I spoke to after the event last year were not even surprised or concerned. They just laughed. All they said was it happens in high school all the time. But, this isn't high school. It's 7th and 8th grade. And it was more than a handful of kids too. The year before, police were investigating some kids for smoking weed. So every year something happens.

Got it. The cross check of attendees’ names against Catholics school enrollment will be rigorous this year. Let’s see if that helps.

We’ll report back.

Not sure where you get your info but DD knows kids from the previously mentioned schools who attended last year.

Just to be clear: "The White Party" is not slang for private schools?

Sorry if you don't see the difference. You should just own your ignorance. It is fine, we are coming to accept it in the US these days.

Do you stand at the door and check their id? Do you troll the parking lot for stickers? How many years have you been stalking this event?
