It's a fundraiser for a tuition-free school. Tickets go fast, lots of sponsorships.

No issues this year, just kids having fun for a good cause. Lots of schools in attendance both catholic and independent. Personally, I know lots of catholic schools were represented as well as STA/NCS.

Seems incredibly tone deaf.

Not everyone is as obsessed with skin color as you seem to be.

It is not a matter of obsession with skin color, it is understanding history and maybe some respect. It could easily be called the "Glen Echo Ball" or the "Suburban Catholic School Spring Frolic" or any one of another names, but sure, go ahead and be Squi.

And I guess the Beatles should change the album name.

Sorry to ruin your joke, but the name of the album is "The Beatles".

What's the report on drunk kids again?

Don't kid yourself, White Party is no different from any other middle school dance as far as the antics of some kids. Every year there are kids (a small minority) at all the 7/8th grade private school dances who drink, vape, make-out, and generally misbehaving - every single year. A small minority of kids will always be pushing boundaries and trying to act much older than they are. As long as you know your kid, and know what you are doing as a parent, your kid won't be one of them.

Oh, and yes, kids from the Cathedral schools certainly do go, as do kids from Sidwell, Potomac, Holton, Holy Child, Landon, Maret, Bullis, SSSAS, Woods, Mater Dei, and every parish K-8 that I have ever heard of. In 2018 there weren't many Cathedral school kids there because it was the NCS 8th grade dance (MORP) but in 2017 and again this year there were many from both schools. Just check out Instagram, many post photos with friends.

I'm glad these girls are getting a head start on a lifetime of service through partying.

Philanthropy is somewhat different from service.
